| LIFE IN SOLERA | AUGUST 2026 | 3 FROM THE BOARD B Marci Case The Board approved the Chairpersons for the various committees at last month's Open Session meeting. While looking over the minutes to the Open Session's meetings during the past fiscal year, it is evident how much our advisory committees do for the Board and our Solera community. We want to take this opportunity to offer our thanks and gratitude for the time spent and contributions made by these committees: Common Area Landscape – Carol Schara Communications & Technology – Tony Lucchesi Contracts Proposal Review - Jim Hickey Decorating TBD, however filling in are the members of the African American Culture Club, Gwen Hill, Secretary Design Review – Barbara Boutwell Finance – Marcia Casem Welcome – Brenda Dewey Recreation Activities – Mary Anne Roadick And the countless members of each of these committees. Theses volunteers don't do it for the glory, they do it because they care and want to contribute their knowledge to help keep our community life to meet and/or exceed our expectations. When a committee is in need of member(s), it is posted in several ways. If you have recently retired or have got a couple of hours a month to volunteer, please about volunteering for a committee which matches your expertise. Complete a Volunteer Interest Form, which is on our website or at the office. The information below is copied from our Community Rules. Item #3 is the most important; and yet the most ignored. There have been, unfortunately, several recent incidents when someone trips and falls, has a medical issue causing unconsciousness, missteps on a treadmill and falls hitting their head, slips on the wet deck in the pool area, and the list goes on. So what does this have to do with carrying your ID card? The fact is, not everyone knows who you are. When 911 is called and you are taken to the hospital. they have to list you as John Doe until you are conscious and hopefully can identify yourself. Your family cannot be notified unless we can identify you. This is real. We have reinstituted the use of a sign in/out sheet for both the gym and swimming pool area. Please sign in and out. Have your ID card with you at all times. Staff may ask you to show your ID from time to time. This is for your own protection. Solera Photo ID Cards 1. Use of common area facilities is a privilege granted only to Solera residents in good standing with a valid Photo ID card. 2. Loaning or altering your Photo ID card is prohibited. 3. When using the facilities, Photo ID must be with resident and accessible for emergency identification purposes or when requested by staff and/or security. 4. Prior to moving all Photo ID card(s) must be turned into the Administration office.
