70 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | AUGUST 2026 Ladies Putters The June weather continued to be a bit erratic but in spite of that we were still able to get out and putt on most of our scheduled days. In late June, the gals held their mid-year Potluck and Awards and everyone who had recorded the minimum number of rounds received at least one award. We welcomed back, Betty Evans, a former member of our group who has returned. As in the past, we also plan to participate in the Four Seasons Oldlympics later this summer. This event will be open to any resident of Four Seasons, men as well as women. So, if there are any men out there who think they can tame our challenging putting green, please consider joining us later this summer. As always, if there are any gals out there who would like a little challenge in their lives, we invite you to join us and give the Ladies Putter Group a try. This is a low-impact, "high fun and very social and slightly competitive" activity and the best part is that no experience is necessary. We have extra putters and balls if you'd like to join us. Our nine-hole putting green is located at The Courts, behind the pool area. Because of the expected summer heat, our Monday putting time will be 6 pm for the months of August, September, and October and will return to our regular Monday 4 pm, time in November. Our LPG putting time on Friday will remain at 9 am. For more information, please contact Elaine Brown at (626) 589-9791 or Phyllis Kates at (909) 227-0037. ~ Phyllis Kates The June weather continued to be a bit erratic but in spite of that we were still able to get out and putt on most of our scheduled days. In late June, the gals held their mid-year Potluck and This summer, I have decided to try something different with our summer time change. We have now gone to our summer schedule. But instead of just jumping to an 8 am start time, I thought that since the weather has not been that hot in the mornings, that we would try starting at 8:30 am for now and when we get our hotter summer weather, then we would switch to our regular summer starting time of 8 am. A great way to start your day outside is to join our group for some fresh air, exercise, and socialization. Shuff leboard is an easy game to learn and almost anyone can quickly become proficient. Our games usually last about an hour or so and we randomly select different teams each time that we play. This keeps the competition challenging and the games more interesting. We have no losers, only non-winners. We have a wonderful group of residents who play regularly but we are eager to welcome new players. If you are interested in joining a fun activity with friendly residents, please come out and join our shuff leboard family. We will introduce you to the game of shuff leboard in case you have never played before. If you have played before and just need a review, we can give you a refresher. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me. Otherwise, I hope to see you at the newer shuff leboard courts behind The Lodge swimming pool and next to the paddle tennis courts on a Monday and/or Saturday morning at 9 am. ~ Marty Rotman, (310) 948-1693, mrtmj@aol.com Shuffleboard e Ladies Putter Group welcomed back Betty Evans. During our "Closest to the Pin without Going In" competition, Gerri watches and hopes that her ball stops, but doesn't drop! e Ladies Putter Group held their mid-year Potluck and Awards in late June.
