| OHCC LIVING | SEPTEMBER 2026 | 5 Message from the GM By Jean Frederick, OHCC General Manager On June 30, 2026, I began my journey as the new General Manager of Ocean Hills Country Club. I jumped in with both feet, working to become familiar with the community, its operations, its people, and, of course, the constant f low of activity that takes place behind the scenes. As I approach my first two months at OHCC, I thought I would share a few things I've learned along the way: • Ocean Hills is proud of the quality of life it offers its residents. That pride is evident throughout the community and in the people who call OHCC home. • Residents genuinely love living here. One comment I have heard over and over from the residents I've met is simply, "We love living here." There may be no better compliment for a community. • Our staff shares a passion for customer service. I've been impressed by the dedication of the team and their desire to serve the residents of OHCC well. • There is an extraordinary amount of experience within our staff. Several team members have dedicated many years of service to this community. Ramon Vidrio, our Facilities Supervisor, has been here for 38 years, and Robyn Dawson, Senior Community Manager for the Villages, has served OHCC for 20 years! Longevity like that says a great deal — not only about their personal dedication, but also about the environment and sense of community that exists here. • OHCC residents are incredibly involved. Whether participating in clubs, groups and activities or volunteering their time on Boards and Committees, residents are actively engaged in the life of the community. That involvement comes from caring about where they live and wanting OHCC to continue to be the best community it can be. • There is an impressive amount of talent right here within our gates. Many residents bring years of professional and personal experience to their volunteer service. I am quickly learning just how valuable that experience is to our Boards, Committees and community as a whole. • And one thing I've learned personally — a 10-minute commute is much healthier! Some of you may already know that I am an Oceanside resident and live just a few miles away. After years of a much longer commute, I certainly appreciate being able to work so close to home. Each day I learn more about this wonderful community, and I feel privileged to be of service. Behind the Scenes As I continue learning the operations of OHCC, there is certainly no shortage of things requiring attention. Naturally, much of that work is driven by the priorities of the Master Board, along with the day-to-day needs of the community — which, as you can imagine, provide a constant f low of activity. From broken ice makers to long-range road maintenance plans, there is always something happening behind the scenes that requires the attention of our staff. Among the Master Board's priorities for 2026 are improvements to our work order systems, communication processes and data storage; continued steps toward turf panel replacements; and completion of the Cox Fiber Optic project. Each of these initiatives has many moving parts, but what has impressed me most is the proactive approach the Master Board is taking toward both the immediate and long-term needs of the community. By the time you read this article, I will have completed approximately two months of service as your General Manager. There is still much for me to learn — and I expect that learning will continue for quite some time. As the months pass, my commitment to you is simple: to keep my door open, to communicate when there is important information for our community to know, to listen, and to continue learning every day. Thank you to everyone who has welcomed me so warmly to Ocean Hills Country Club. I look forward to what lies ahead. That's all for now!
