14 FOUR SEASONS AT TERRA LAGO ROADRUNNER | OCTOBER 2026 Express yourself through watercolor! By Missy Anderson When my family and I moved into FSTL from the Midwest in April 2022, we only knew a couple of people who lived over in Palm Desert. During the pandemic, I learned how to paint watercolor through YouTube tutorials. By July of 2026, I wanted to nd other people who also wanted to paint and enjoy watercolor like I did, so our Watercolor Painting group began. Each month, we get together for a project (oen taught through a YouTube tutorial) and open painting. e only rules we have for our watercolor painting is to be kind to ourselves, not compare our work, and to have FUN! We welcome painters of all skill levels, family and friends when they are visiting, and anyone who enjoys putting a little paint on paper. Please look for our yer in the Lodge lobby. By Missy Anderson Love to Read? Consider the Non-Fiction Book Club! e Non-Fiction Book Club came about to satisfy my appetite for learning new things and the love of books. e group meets on the fourth ursday of the month at 4 pm unless we have a eld trip. ree to four times a year we plan an activity based on the book we are reading. We have enjoyed eating at a French restaurant to discuss My Life in France by Julia Child and visited Sunnylands to discuss the book about the Annenberg family. One of our most fun outings was hosted by Trish and Tom Malone at their home. We discussed Becoming Trader Joe by Joe Coulombe, the founder of Trader Joe's. Everyone brought a dish made from a Trader Joe's recipe, product, or beverage. e group suggests books all year and I compile a list with a brief synopsis of the book. In October, we choose the 11 books for the next year. We have casual discussions, and if you didn't care for the book, it is okay not to nish it. Life is too short. Our Oct. 22 discussion will be about Saturday Night: A Backstage History of Saturday Night Live by Doug Hill and Je Weingrad.
