Mike McLaughlin: In past Herald issues I have highlighted the members of the Golf Club Board of Directors Golf Club members. However, on a more personal note, I have put off the last Board members to be highlighted to take a moment to reflect on the loss of two great guys: Dave Weakley and Don Welsh! Dave was a long-time member of the club and shot in the low 80s. I enjoyed many a golf outing with Dave. When I played my first round of golf with the Club, Dave was in my foursome and made me feel at home right away. It was the start of a 14-year friendship. For more, see the article in this issue for the Golf Club/Flag Angels. Don Walsh never lacked for a delightful story and, although he played less golf during the last few years, he stayed involved with the club's social events, he was my mentor for the golf cart parades and the Flag Angels. He always had a way of making you an instant good friend. His parties after Tuesday golf are legendary. Many members are still trying to figure out how they woke up in some strange places. For more, see the article in this issue for the Golf Club/Flag Angels.
