30 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | October 2026 | Horseshoes We have a few people interested in playing horseshoes. There is a horseshoe league that plays on Wednesday mornings at 8 am at different locations around Hemet. We practice Saturdays at 8 am. The Four Seasons Pool Club was created to organize various activities to help keep our residents active and give many a safe place to exercise, socialize and have fun. Our water volleyball games on Thursdays at 5 pm have been so much fun, and we find that learning to move through the water to play this game has not only helped us physically, but also helped us cognitively. Working out in water improves cognitive function by increasing blood flow to the brain, releasing growth factors that build new brain cells, and engaging both sides of the brain through coordinated physical movements. We are finding the same is happening in our Walk-Fit in the Pool activity that takes place on Mondays at 10:30 am. We have posted a calendar at the pool that shows all water activities for the week. Please check it out so you can plan your own activities or join us in the pool club activities. All residents are welcome no matter what your skill level. So come and play with us! Pool Club Shuffleboard Shuff leboard is off and shuff ling. This year we have 22 teams participating, some new players have joined us. Orville, our scheduler, has worked his wizard magic and we will be playing 11 weeks this season. We do not play on Thanksgiving. Our barbecue will be the later part of October. You may bring a guest, the cost for a guest is $5. If you would like to practice on your own just stop by the office and they will help you. Use the shakers, not the roller, to spread the mixture. Be sure to stay off the courts after the mixture is spread as they are very slippery. If you need a sub check with the sub list or ask someone from the squad you don't play. Cornhole Billiards Club If you like the game of pool and would like to meet and play like-minded players, please join us in the Billiards Room on Tuesdays from 9 am to 12 noon. The club participates with the Hemet Valley Pool Club; we host and travel to other 55+ communities and have tournaments with other teams. The game of choice is 1-15, it is a form of 8 Ball and it is a lot of fun. We are also interested in enlisting a few more players for our club.
