| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | October 2026 | 7 Imagine a fresh, new look for our fabulous Bistro. e CIC wants to hear from you! Four Seasons is an active community of diverse people, with different ideas and needs. The CIC is looking for ways that our amenities can better serve the residents of today and tomorrow. To do that, we need feedback and input from YOU – the members of our community. The CIC exists to guide the community toward the future. If we stagnate, our amenities will become dated, less used, or even ignored. For example, when is the last time you played a game of horseshoes or handball? Yep. It's probably either been a while or never. The theater is unused most of the time. How could we update all of these little-used spaces so that more residents would use and enjoy them? That brings us back to YOU. If you have a great idea for improving a current amenity, adding a new one, or just re-using what we already have in a more useful way – we want to know about it! The best way to share your idea is by filling out a resident request form at the front desk. Your written ideas go directly to the CIC for consideration. Yes. We do have a plan for the future The primary mission of the CIC is to develop, share, and update a community Capital Improvements Plan (CIP). The CIC is in the process of finishing the draft CIP for community review. This version of the plan includes a few priority projects that have gone through varied levels of committee planning, along with a few other potential ideas that could be evaluated in the future. The CIC would love to hear your input on the potential projects in the plan, as well as your ideas for others. If your idea gets CIC and Board approval, it will be added to the CIP for potential funding in the future. Sharing the CIP with the community is challenging because everyone has a different way of getting information. For the Lodge remodel project, the CIC used e-blasts, posters, f lyers, the Herald, the TV event roller in the Lodge, and an open community meeting. The CIC's goal is to reach as many community members as possible with open, accurate and timely information. We look forward to your participation. Capital Improvements Committee Library Committee Fall is in full swing. Leaves have been changing colors around the country. It's a beautiful time of year with cooler temperatures, although some hotter days may sneak in here and there. That is especially typical of Southern California weather. Some Four Seasons residents like to vacation in the fall because of the cooler weather and those colorful leaves, perhaps traveling to the north eastern part of the United States. I grew up in Ohio, and Jim (who is from Massachusetts) and I plus our four children lived for a number of years in Illinois. Fall was glorious in each of these locations. Library Committee member, Sue Brockett, is this month's guest contributor. Sue invites you to think back to what might have been a favorite location of your own! Instead of talking about your specific destination, she is interested in learning if you happened to take advantage of one particular amenity, near and dear to our committee's heart, while there: Sue begins, "I am sure many of you have been on a cruise before. Have you ever visited the ships' libraries? The ones I have checked out are small and inviting. There are several choices of books, magazines, crossword puzzles and some have jigsaw puzzles. Most have comfortable seating which faces out toward the ocean, where you can sit, relax, and read or enjoy outside or in your cabin." "Well, our Four Seasons Library is very much like that. Of course, we have no ocean to look at, but we have cozy seating looking out toward our patio and pool. Our well-stocked library has a variety of books, including hardbacks, paperbacks, best sellers, historical books, books by our very own Four Seasons authors, biographies, large print books, classics, non-fiction, magazines, audio CDs and coffee table books. Whew! We also have puzzles ranging from 300 – 1,500 pieces in the computer room. We put out seasonal puzzles in a special section when available." "Our Library Committee works hard to keep all books listed alphabetically by authors' last names and separated into categories, as well as keeping the puzzles in numerical order.
