Any resident or a group of residents can bring others together by starting a new club, organization, or event. If you have an idea, you can make it happen! The first Terramor Clubs were started by the first "Terramor Settlers" who moved into our community in late 2017 through 2019. Everyone was new, eager to meet new neighbors, and to make new friends. As our community grew, many other residents stepped up to start clubs, organizations, and host events. At Terramor, as around the globe, COVID interrupted our activities for a short time and to varying degrees from 2020-2022, but even then, we had walking trails, driveway concerts (thank you, Bo!) and holiday golf cart parades to safely enjoy. Our Board was prepared and determined to reopen our clubhouses and other facilities just as soon as it was legal for them to do so. In the early years, the "official" clubs in Terramor were established with approval from the Terramor Community Homeowners Association (HOA), meaning they were formally recognized by the HOA. Over time the structure has changed, and clubs now organize independently. This shift allows residents greater freedom to create and manage clubs based on their interests, without needing HOA approval or oversight. Generally, clubs, organizations, and events are self-organized and self-funded. Some of our events are organized by the HOA Management Staff. On occasion, the HOA may partner with clubs, organizations and individuals to host an event. If these events are open to the entire community, any HOA funds come from the Master Association Budget. If these events are for 55+, any HOA funds come from the Age Qualified (55+) Special Benefit Area Budget. Clubs, organizations, groups, and individuals can request the use of and reserve Terramor facilities, parks, or other amenities as provided in our Operating Standards. If use of facilities is requested, then the HOA rules for conduct and use of facilities will apply. In addition to information and forms on our Terramor App, our Lifestyle Manager, Francine Luna, is a great resource for information about the rules for use of facilities, scheduling, reserving space, and publicizing these activities. She can be contacted at Francine.Olson@fsresidential.com. Now Terramor has dozens of social, hobby, special interests, and service groups founded by residents from all segments of our many neighborhoods. You can read about these in the quarterly issues of Terramor Beyond e Gates Magazine. And, if you decide to start something new for our community, please be sure to let us know so that we can include your new group or event at beyondthegates. magazine@gmail.com!
