14 TERRAMOR BEYOND THE GATES | FALL 2026 Neighbrs, New Friends, Fd & Fun What started as casual conversations among neighbors has grown into something much more meaningful for a group of Terramor women discovering the joy of golf together. Whether playing at Dos Lagos Golf Course or taking lessons at Glen Ivy Golf Club, Lorie, Donna, Daciena, Patti, and Stephanie have created more than a golf group. They have built friendships and lasting connections. For Lorie, joining the group in 2021 was about saying yes to something new. "The best part was never about the score. "It was simply about spending time together, and enjoying a few hours outside, laughing our way through the course. Stephanie rediscovered golf after taking lessons before Covid. It's a nice way to spend the day with friends and enjoy the outdoors. "We enjoy each other's company," she says. "The group thrives because everyone is all about having fun." For Patti, retirement inspired her to take on a new challenge. "We are all beginners multiple times in our lives. If you don't try, you'll never know how much you might enjoy something." Daciena appreciates the relaxed atmosphere. "We don't take it seriously when we play, and we cheer each other on." And Donna sums it up: "It's a lot of fun with no competition." There's also what Donna calls "9 & Dine" — nine holes followed by breakfast or lunch, and maybe a cocktail. At the end of the day, the golf brings them together, but the friendship keeps them coming back.
