FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2026 73 On Sept. 19, we held our annual community Senior Olympics for shuff leboard and we had 14 participants making up four teams. It was an intense competition! The gold medal winners were Bill Baker, Maureen Myers, and Terry Phelps. The silver medal winners were Rick Steckler, Pete Levario, and Linda Santilli. The Bronze medal winners were Diane Patterson, Jim Rickenbacker, Rob Gardner, and Jane Phelps. The fourth place finishers, and non-medal winners, were Pete Myers, Pat Keep, Hank Negrete, and myself. The Four Seasons Senior Olympics Award Ceremony was held on Oct. 22 and the community medal winners from all of the different activities were recognized in a beautiful ceremony. A great way to start your day is to wake up early and join our group for some outside fresh air, exercise, and socialization. We are currently playing our modified summer hours by starting at 8:30 am instead of 8 am on Monday and Saturday mornings at the shuff leboard courts at The Lodge behind the swimming pool and next to the paddle tennis courts. Shuff leboard is an easy game to learn and almost anyone can quickly become proficient at this sport. Our games usually last about an hour or so and we randomly select different teams each time that we play. This keeps the competition challenging and the games more interesting. We play for fun and we have no losers, only non-winners. We have a wonderful group of residents who play regularly but we are eager to welcome new players. If you are interested in joining a fun activity with friendly residents, please come out and join our shuff leboard family. We will introduce you to the game of shuff leboard in case you have never played before. If you have played before and just need a review, we can give you a refresher.
