Farewell to Friends Vivian Walker, a beloved member of our community, passed away on Thursday, September 3rd, at the age of 79. She was caring, funny, intelligent, and always willing to help in any way she could. Vivian was born on July 4th, in Pasadena, California. The third out of 10 children, she always looked out for her younger siblings, and continued to do so with her whole family as an adult. She attended Pasadena City College, California State University, Los Angeles, UCLA and the University of California, Berkeley. She loved football and was an avid fan of the San Francisco 49ers. She started her career as a process server in Oakland at the naval shipyard. Vivian served as director of human resources for many years, and retired as vice president. As expected, she was very good at what she did, and everyone she worked with loved and respected her. Her organizational abilities and innate understanding of people were as great an asset in her personal life as in her professional life, as many of us know. Those abilities were later an asset to our community as she was involved in many clubs and groups. Newcomers in Four Seasons were welcomed with her beautiful smile and personality, putting them at ease. Vivian was a founding member and served on the steering committee of Four Seasons Tails and Trails Rescue Group. She wrote the monthly articles for the Breeze magazine. These articles kept readers up to date about club activities and fundraisers, as well as helpful and practical pet-related information. So many animals were reunited with their owners or found new homes because of this club and her active participation. During her final week in the hospital, she was still posting on Facebook about lost dogs, helping these animals reunite with their owners, or find new loving homes. Vivian was a founding member of the Four Seasons Pickleball Club, and served as treasurer for a number of years. She also supported the evening/beginning players. She was a founding member of the Ladies Putter Group, and was active in the Maryalice Chorba greeting card makers. Many friends received those lovely, handmade cards. Dear Vivian, you touched the hearts of so many and the world is better because you were in it. Our memories will forever leave us with thankful thoughts of knowing you. 78 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2026
