12 SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | NOVEMBER 2026
By Pam Yang, Resident
About a year ago, one of our newer members in Friendship
Quilters, Catherine Johnson, shared this quilt you are seeing
here. We can all agree that it is a great looking quilt. But there
is something about it… I have been thinking about this quilt in
dreams and quiet moments for the entire year. I decided it had
to be the next quilt I share. Interestingly, when I approached
Catherine about the idea and she asked which quilt, I responded
"the blue and white one." She paused, tilting her head…
hmmmmm. I scanned through my pictures, asking Siri for a blue
and white quilt and didn't find much. Then, we quickly figured
out approximately when she would have shown it, going by when
they moved in, etc. Ah ha! Found it… but as you can see it's not
just blue and white. Over the year I transformed it to a completely
different quilt. It had to be the next quilt to share with you all in e
View. It left such a remarkable impression on me and hope that it
will inspire some of you to join us at our Friendship Quilters, which
meets the third Friday of the month, at 1 pm. You will find a terrific
group of women who are warm and welcoming. Our membership
has grown in the past few months and we are now almost 50
members. All aren't quilters… some sew, some make cards, some
do jeweled pictures… they all appreciate quilts. Please join us.
