36 | LIFE IN SOLERA | NOVEMBER 2026 | QUILTERS Every September, we quilters present our annual challenge. The theme changes every year, and we have one year to complete it. The project can be any size we want, from a potholder to a full sized quilt. Last year, the theme was movies with a color in the title. After a blind drawing to select our movie, we set to work making items representative of that movie. There was Blue Lagoon, Pretty in Pink, A Clockwork Orange, etc. As always, everyone did a great job! Then we always toast a great year with champagne or apple juice. These are some pictures of our ideas. Next year, we have natural elements, like desert, mountains, sky, etc. Can't wait to see what we come up with! Happy fall! I hope everyone enjoyed the recent Craft Festival. So many great crafters here at Solera and such varied hobbies. Pictured far right is our talented Linda U showing off her creative side and you may have purchased one of her creations at the Craft Fair. So fun to see the critters she comes up with and love the crocheted gnome. Also our Rafea, pictured right, is coming up with ideas since Knit and Crochet has the Clubhouse Hobby Window for November. She designed and knitted the basket and made the pumpkins which will be with our other fall items in the November Hobby Window which show you what our group is doing. If you are interested in learning how to Knit and/ or Crochet or renew your interest in working with needles, come visit us and see if our group is for you. Thursdays from 10 am to noon in the Clubhouse Arts & Crafts Room. KNIT & CROCHET CLUB e acrylic painting class is held every Monday aernoon from 3:15 to approximately 5 pm. Solera is fortunate to have Judy Hale leading the sessions. Judy is a talented artist and she's generously donating her time to share her expertise with us.
