GOLF CLUB
e President's Cup The results are in folks! The Team of Captain
Ray Smith (left) was victorious over Team Dave Samaro after an
exciting three days of competition. After Round 1 at Tukwet Legends,
both teams tied at 2.5 pts. Then, Team Smith took control at Yucaipa
with Captain Smith shooting an 85, net 67, to take the lead in the
tournament 6.5 to 4.5. The venue shifted back to Tukwet for the final
round — all singles' matches. The teams were even on that day, Sept.
29, and Team Smith emerged victorious, 13-11, with the Trophy in
hand.
Two golfers on Team Smith did something exceptional. Rick Wood
& Manuel Magdaleno (pictured above right) won all three of their
matches! Congrats gentlemen.
The next event for the golf club will be the Fall Golf Outing at
Cimarron Golf Club, Cathedral City on Dec. 1. Earlier in the year
we made our first trip to Cimarron and a great time was had by all,
including a wonderful meal with a great selection of entrees. We are
inviting non-Solera golfers in our community for some great golf,

TIP OF THE MONTH: For longer putts, keep the same tempo. Try
not to accelerate your stroke on the downswing but make a longer
backstroke keeping your tempo even.
