Landscape Committee (about being too busy) I'm volunteering. Really! This is such a wonderful community, well-maintained with a wide assortment of activities. I could run for office or become a committee member. Unfortunately, I'm too busy. I do my part though. If I see something amiss, I tell the Lodge Attendant whenever I go to the playground. Sometimes I phone in a report. I often say I am forwarding a complaint from a visitor, neighbor or family member so they won't ask me to help solve the problem. You see, I'm too busy. There are so many activities here. Why, I'm so busy at recess, I don't have time to go to class. I'm just too busy. I do send e-mails of my observations. How great are e-mails? With one click I can send the same message to Board members, Management staff and committee members. I can even tell them they all should be replaced. Not by me though. I'm too busy. I would go to committee meetings and discover all the issues involved in running Four Seasons. But, have I mentioned this before, I'm too busy. Why, I was in a club that asked me to do some work outside of the club meeting. They didn't understand that I'm too busy. After all, I am retired. I don't keep track of weekends anymore. If something I feel needs to be done on a Saturday or Sunday isn't done, someone should be replaced. I pay my dues. Yes, they haven't gone up in five years while we have had five rate increases for water alone in the same time. And, yes, the Landscape committee is down to three members and now does the work of the Water Management Committee, but I sure some other homeowners will help them. I would, but, as you know, I'm too busy. So, to do my part, I'm volunteering YOU. The Landscape Committee has openings for interested volunteers. Plant knowledge is not required as we have landscape professionals. What is needed is the desire to walk around the community and report on the status of plant life and any unusual growth. ~ Len Tavernetti Computer Learning Center Our next class will be our Basic/Intermediate class that covers a broad range of general computer use, including Operating Systems, file and program association, file move and copy, e-mail, search techniques and Internet usage.
