payments, setting up new utility accounts, issuing bus passes and providing route information for the city. Phase Two taught staff from the three departments to renew business licenses, take new business applications, handle public works bids, and take plan submittals for the Planning Department and the Building and Safety departments. During Phase Three, they were trained how to issue a basic building permit and process passports. LOOKING AHEAD In the digital age, expanded city services also are now available online. Beaumont has upgraded its website, www. beaumontcares.com to offer more public services as part of the 24/7 program. Residents can quickly and easily request city services and ask questions by using the new AskBeaumont.org website. The new system allows residents to check the status of their requests, too. Soon, they'll be able to submit requests using their smart phones and chat live with a customer service coordinator. Sewer and trash payments can be made online by simply clicking "Online Bill Pay." By setting up an account, residents are able to conveniently pay their utility bill over the Internet. And it's never been easier to take care of city business by phone. Residents are now able to pay their utility bills by calling one of the city offices. These are just a few of the ways that Beaumont aims to exceed expectations and deliver more high-quality public services around the clock. Today, the cross-training process continues, and the same city services are offered in three different locations: City Hall, the Albert A. Chatigny Sr. Community Recreation Center and the Police Department.
