Hiking Club Hikers returned to Jenks Lake in the San Gorgonio Mountains, one of their favorite locales in September. As usual, it was perfect shirt sleeve weather for a morning hike. The tall conifers provided shade as the temperature climbed. At the lake only a few outdoor enthusiasts were enjoying the view along with two hopeful gents with fishing rods. The group circumnavigated the lake and returned to the Oaks Restaurant for a great lunch. During these travels Rich and Ann Williams met up with Rick and Jamie Brower in Montana. We took some dirt/gravel roads through the Crow Reservation to the Yellow Tail River where we rented a boat and enjoyed some amazing rock formations. Prior to meeting up with the Browers, the Williams did some jeeping in Idaho and Yellowstone. It was particularly interesting when the jeep was surrounded by buffalo and we waited for them to cross the road. It gave will be home just before Thanksgiving, as we are taking a tour through the east coast. Lots of activities in store for next year such as Quartzite, Death Valley, Scottsdale-West world, Pismo Beach, Chula Vista and Buellton. There is a lot of good stuff coming up.
