Schools Prep Kids to be Innovators
The 2013-14 school year is proving to be one of the most
dramatic years of innovation and change as we leave the
agrarian/industrial era of public education and immerse
ourselves fully in the information/technology era. Just as adults
face the ever changing landscape of technology, our students
must be prepared to learn and navigate in an environment
with the enormous amounts of information and develop 21st
century learning skills to be the leaders and innovators of the
future.
Beaumont USD is very proud of the direction we are taking
in fostering those skills and providing students the learning
environment that increases critical thinking, communication,
collaboration, and creativity. To brand this distinction of the
district, we are proud to showcase our enhanced logo with

the Beaumont community. Our foundation of home, school,
community sits as the foundation of our work, surrounded
by the rigor, relevance, relationships that are central in 21st
century learning.
Over the next months, we will share, in-depth, the significance
of those 21st century learning skills and communicate with
you — our community members and leaders the role we
—
play in ensuring Beaumont graduates are prepared to lead
themselves and our city in innovation and a future that is not
even known to us at this time. In this information/technology
era, we are all learners and must evolve our thinking and habits
to embrace change. What an exciting time to learn and grow
together as a learning community.
