social singles Our next dinner meeting is Fri., Nov. 8, at 6 pm in the South Clubhouse. Doors open at 5:30 pm. GOBBLE, GOBBLE, GOBBLE … yes, it's that time of year when we give thanks… thanks for living here in this beautiful community with so many wonderful friends and neighbors. We will be having a traditional Thanksgiving dinner catered by Thomas Caterer's. They will be serving turkey, dressing, and all the trimmings and apple pie for dessert. Social Singles own favorite crooner, Ray Rendon, will be singing the songs we love. All this for $13 pp. Guests are $15. If you live in Sun Lakes, you may come as a guest one time only, and then you must join the club for $10. Guests living outside of Sun Lakes are welcome at $15 pp. We can only accommodate 99 people in the South Clubhouse for our dinner meetings, so your attendance will be on a first come first serve basis. Make checks payable to Social Singles and drop your checks to Betty McMillion, 5549 Pinehurst Dr., 769-6636. Those who want to sit together should put their checks in one envelope. If you have signed up for the dinner meeting and are unable to attend, PLEASE call Betty McMillion so she may give your reservation to someone on the wait list. You will receive your money back. For additional events, see the Social Singles flyer in the clubhouse lobby. Oct. 27: PALM SPRINGS AERIAL TRAM, $21.95. Leave at 12 pm. This is the largest rotating tramcar in the world and will take you 5,873 feet in ten minutes. Experience the breathtaking view of the surrounding desert valley and mountains. Dinner at Billy Reed's. Nov. 2: MORONGO BAND OF MISSIONS INDIANS PRESENT THE BANNING CENTENNIAL GALA, $35. Leave at 4:45 pm. The Morongo Casino Resort Grand Ballroom. You are encouraged to wear clothing circa 1880's-1919, but not mandatory. Original show, "Arrivals." Music by Gregory Adamson. Nov. 3: "SAME TIME NEXT YEAR," $12. Leave at 12:45 pm. The touching story of a man and woman both married to other people… who meet one weekend each year for 25 years at the same hotel. The show will have you laughing and crying. Beaumont Womens' Club. Lunch at Applebees. Nov. 14: THURS. CRAZY 8 DINNER, 5:30 pm. Dining room, RSVP Patty Joeb, 769-7008 by Mon., Nov. 11. Nov. 21, Thurs: MOVIE, SOUTH CLUBHOUSE: "MAMMA MIA'" $2, 2:30 pm. An independent, single mother who owns a small hotel on an idyllic Greek island, is about to let go of Sophie, the spirited daughter she's raised alone. Starring Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan. A lot of fun. Coffee, cookies, pop corn and soda. ALL SUN LAKERS ARE WELCOME! Nov. 30: SAT. LUNCHEON, 11:30 am. Dining room, RSVP Doris Harrison, 769-3990 by Wed., Nov 27. Dec. 29: "PALM SPRINGS FOLLIES," Spectacular Holiday Show. $52 ($10 deposit). THIS IS THE LAST SEASON FOR THE FOLLIES. Susan Anton will be the guest performer. We will be going to Las Casuelas for dinner.
