Winterfest Starts Season
The City of Yucaipa will host its First Annual
Winterfest and Tree Lighting Ceremony on Sat.,
Nov. 30, from 3 to 8 pm in the historic uptown
district. Thousands will gather to enjoy yuletide
carolers, holiday music, food, craft vendors
and snow sled runs. This event celebrates the
traditional lighting of the holiday round-about
tree and will feature a kids choir and Yucaipa
High School Madrigals performing the sounds
of the season.
Other event activities include a Santa's Village
where kids can write a letter to Santa, decorate
a cookie in Mrs. Claus' kitchen, and make a craft
in the Elves workshop. Thirty tons of snow
will shape a sled run ($5 for three rides, $10
for five rides, or $20 unlimited trips). Free live
entertainment will include Allegheny Southern,
a bell choir, Brass group and a Rockin' Holiday
Revue by the Wonderelles.
To meet Santa personally, visit Santa's
Village from 3 to 5 pm. Families can get
their picture taken with Santa from 6 to
8 pm at the round-about tree. Some fees
may apply for certain attractions. A tree
lighting ceremony will take place at 6
pm with free hot cocoa, coffee,
and cookies to follow.
Event attendance and
parking is free. Craft and
food vendors will run from
California St. to Bryant St.
