Car break-in incidents appear to be isolated Thieves broke into at least five cars at night in Four Seasons early in November, taking whatever valuables they found. Most of the cars were parked in the owners' driveways, but one may have been in a garage that was entered through an unlocked side door. Facility Coordinator Renee Watkins said at least six such incidents were reported to Euclid Management at the Lodge, but only four — one involving two cars at the same address — were reported to Beaumont police. The thieves reportedly took a laptop computer, clothing, garage door openers and transponders for the gates at Four Seasons. One owner said his car was locked and forced open and another said an attempt was made, but failed, to enter her locked car. Police said residents should park in their garages if at all possible. They also offered several other tips: 1. Keep your parked car locked. 2. Do not leave valuables in view inside the car, locked or not. 3. If your car is broken into, notify the police, not just the Lodge office. 4. If a gate transponder is stolen, let the Lodge know so it can be disabled to prevent it being used by the thief to re-enter Four Seasons. 5. If a garage door opener is stolen, change the code to keep the thief out of your garage. 6. Lock the side door to your garage. 7. If you see suspicious activity, call the police. Fortunately the incidents appear to be isolated.
