Camera Club We meet the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm in the Craft Room at the Lodge. Our December meeting will be Dec. 17. Visitors are always welcome. We invite all photographers, regardless of skill level, to join us for our regular meetings and other field trips. Members are always eager to help and teach. We discuss photography, photo software and hardware, and related subjects of interest. Last summer, we began photography critiques of members' pictures who want to participate. Remember, this is voluntary. This is a great way to see just exactly what the photographer did "right" and where there could have possibly been improvement. All camera-club attendees learn this way whether or not the individual chose to submit their photo. We had some helpful, Bridge interesting, and friendly comments and critiques thus far. In addition, our alternative photo project is ongoing (i.e. we bring a picture of a specific genre we all agree on). This, also, is completely voluntary. That's the great thing about our camera club. If you desire, you don't have to volunteer any pictures just sit back and learn from the discussions and critiques. Time is passing fast! Thanksgiving is already behind us and before long, the next set of holidays will be knocking on our door. That means lots of holiday pictures, right? So, come on out to our meeting and get some tips on how to make those photos the best possible. For further information, please contact Lyle Cameron, (951) 849-6987. ~ Lyle Cameron Join us on Mondays at 11:30 am for a challenging game of Bridge in the Lodge Card Room. It will give the brain some exercise and we can all use that at our age. We play party type of a Bridge game where we rotate partners. This enables you to meet and play with different people. All of us play at different levels and are learning how to play the game better (practice makes us better). Last month Lylia Puckett and myself were able to bid and make a grand slam. A grand slam is what every bridge player dreams of bidding and making. Thank you Lylia. You too can have the challenge and enjoyment of bidding and making your games. We will be happy to start up classes if we have enough players who want to learn the game or want to improve their game. Some of the previous classes have learned enough that they have sat in as subs when someone is not available or we can set up another table. If interested or have questions please call Helen at (951) 845-9312. Both Helen and I will be glad to help you learn the basics of the game and hope that you will join us to either learn how to play, watch or play the game of Bridge. ~ Bill Guy Taste d'Vine Wine cheers the sad, revives the old, inspires the young, makes weariness forget his toil. It is with this thought that the Taste D' Vine Wine Club wishes you a joyous holiday season and a smashing New Year! ~ Gracy Luna Book Club Like all the rest of you, we have a busy, busy month ahead of us. Something is going to have to give. So even though we love our books and our book club friends, we've decided to cancel our December meeting. We are already looking forward to January, though, because we are starting the new year off with a really interesting book: And the Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini. Hosseini also wrote The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns, so we know this is going to be another really fine book. ~ Doreen Sanders Pacific Heating & Air Conditioning FOUR SEASONS Special!
