Since Chanukah came in November this year we have completed our Menorah lighting and gift giving. Some of us have already partied and maybe even danced! But for members and friends who enjoy the singing, dancing, eating, laughter, games, and warmth of the occasion we are having a post Chanukah dinner and celebration complete with traditional music played by a five piece band who will lead us in singing and dancing to the joyous Yiddish music. We will play the dreidel game, where we gamble for Chanukah gelt (foil wrapped chocolate coins) and the winner is determined by how the dreidel (spinning top) falls. If we're lucky we may even be treated to traditional Klezmer music. Dinner, catered by Russo's Italian Kitchen, includes chicken piccata, pot roast, salad and veggies. Potato kugel, home made by our famous cooking members, is also on the menu and they might even divulge the recipe. Coffee and tea will be available and you may bring your own wine. This delightful event will take place on Wed., Dec. 18, at 6 pm in the South Clubhouse. The cost is $15 pp for club members and $18 pp for guests. Paid reservations must be received by Dec. 11, and should be sent to Diane Stone, 1800 Litchfield, Banning, CA 92220. Everyone is welcome to attend this cultural and culinary evening. December is also the month when we have our annual election. Voting will take place at the Post Chanukah Dinner.
