Survey Update Thank You From Toys For Tots Woody Catalano,Toys for Tots Chairman The Sun Lakes Marines and the United States Marine Corps Reserve offers their appreciation and THANK YOU to the residents of Sun Lakes for their generous support of the Toys for Tots program. On Dec. 5, Marines from the United States Marine Corps base at 29 Palms arrived in Sun Lakes to pick up and transport over 200 gifts to Santa's workshop for distribution to less fortunate children in time for Christmas. On the night of the Marine Corps Ball at Sun Lakes, celebrating the 238th birthday of the United States Marine Corps, $505 was donated by the guests attending the ball and a check for that amount was also given to the Toys for Tots program. PROPOSED RULE AMENDMENTS NOTIFICATION RULE CHANGE #14-001: Rule changes concerning Golf Course Rules and Regulations. The Board reviewed the following proposed amendment, to the Sun Lakes Country Club Homeowners Association General Statement of Rules and Regulations that appear in the Association's 2013 Local Phone Book, Sun Lakes Edition (reference pages 41-42), at its Nov. 21, open session meeting. The Board will vote upon the proposed amendment at its Feb. 20, Open Session Meeting, following publication. If the Board votes in favor of the proposed rule change it would go into effect March 1, 2014. Please refer to the full rules for complete context. Changes are reflected in bold, italic and underlined print. Please note previous pending rule changes are so noted. 3. Players who are physically unable to walk from the cart path to the green must obtain clearance from the Pro Shop staff to drive their carts any closer to the greens. All Applicants must provide evidence of their disability every other year bi-annually, and purchase the approved handicap flag from the Pro Shop. All handicap flags must be clearly recognizable and maintained in good condition. Applications in Pro Shop. Exception: Any violation of Rules #12 and/or #13 will result in the scheduling of a Disciplinary Hearing before the Board of Directors and the possible loss of golf privileges for up to 30 days, a fine of up $100 or any other discipline as may be determined legally appropriate. Additionally, any possible action involving resident conflict with management personnel or staff shall be sent directly to the Master Board for review and resolution. GOLF MEMBERSHIP REFUND/CREDIT POLICY 1. Upon request, 50% of the unused portion of an annual Sun Lakes golf membership belonging to an individual who passes away will be refunded to 6 | sun lakes lifestyles | January 2014 | community news The Marketing Committee wants to thank you for sending in your surveys. We received 2,899 responses. However, because of the great return, it will take us longer to analyze all of the information to be used for our marketing purposes. All of the comments that were made, were put into categories (Restaurant, Golf, Maintenance, Personnel, and General). These comments will be given to the Board Of Directors who in turn will distribute them to the General Manager to review with his Department Heads. Again, we want to thank you for your participation and will continue to give you updates as we utilize the statistics received in this survey. The Marketing Committee District Winners: First Place: District 19 - $125.00 Second Place: District 13 - $75.00 Tie for Third Place: Districts 18 & 20 – each get $50. the estate of the deceased member. 2. There shall be no other refund of credit for the unused portion of an Annual Sun Lakes Golf Membership. Written requests for refund must be submitted using the Sun Lakes Country Club Request for Refund of Annual Golf Dues for Disability Reasons Form to the Director of Golf. Disability must prevent golfer from playing golf for a minimum of 120 days. Refunds are calculated at 100% (for refund requests made during January and February) and 80% (for refund requests made during the months of March through September) of the annual membership amount; prorated over the remaining full months (i.e., no partial months) and will be issued, if approved, within 60 days of approval by the Master Board of Directors. Should a homeowner who has been granted a membership refund desire to rejoin the annual golf membership, in the same year, the respective prorated monthly annual dues rate will apply.
