Computer Club Library Committee Received a computer or iPad or iPhone as a gift last month? Don't know what to do now? Never heard of Adobe Reader or Picasa or Facebook? Well, help is here and close by. Come by our table at the Activities Day in the Main Clubhouse and sign up for a membership for 2014. Cost is $20 per household. Meetings are held twice a month at 1 pm in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. Thurs., Jan. 2: Computer Club President Jerry Munnelly will conduct a class on basic computer info. Thurs., Jan. 16: Banning Library representative Fernando Morales will be here to tell us how to download books from the Banning library to our computers, Kindles, and iPads at no expense… just use your library card. We are losing two members in 2014. Ann Reese, our Chairperson and Pam Norton, our Publicity Chairman, will be leaving after their terms have ended. We are welcoming two new members: Russell Anderson and Carol Martin. Goodbye to Ann and Pam, and welcome to Russell and Carol. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to our wonderful libraries. Our new slate of officers for 2014: Judy Garthwaite, President; Vicki Rawson, Vice President; Dee Nicoletti will continue as our very capable Treasurer, and Sylvia McGovern, Secretary. Other talented people who will be lending their support are Provi Donadio, Menu Coordinator; Janet Contreras, Publicity; Steve Garthwaite, Social Committee; Jeanette Cadmus, Decorations; and Marie Grinceri, Sunshine. Membersat-large are Ramona Albertine and our Past President, Caroline Molzan. Thank you for volunteering and planning a spectacular year for all members. Come celebrate our Winter Wonderland on Mon., Jan. 13, at the Main Clubhouse, with a choice of stuffed chicken breast roll-up or salmon with white wine sauce both served with sides, including salad and tiramisu for dessert. Two bottles of wine will be at each table. Music will be by Jimmy Draper and his band. The cost will be just $25 pp. Guests will pay the same as members. Talented newcomers Tina Ross, Bill Branum and several others were welcomed and enthusiastically got involved. The 2013 sessions were highlighted by special appearances by veteran performers who kept the group alive, led by Norma Glover (acting president), the very popular "Miss Attitude" Dottie Scott, the "Marilyn Monroe of Sun Lakes" Joey Mercado, DJ and singer Bob Palmer, Ray Rendon, Tony and Teresa Moreno, Jon Reese, Ray of Bad Influence, Gunther, Betty Mock, Barb and Rosie, and others. Welcome mats of friendship were extended to newcomers and returning performers alike by Dottie Scott, Tina Ross and Norma Glover, encouraging new residents to participate. Be watching for 2014 dates to join in the fun! No dues! Bring your music discs, smiling faces and your suggestions for continued success and an opportunity to make new friends. All music is accepted.
