Executive Men's Golf Friday morning golf with us is challenging and fun. The 3,000-yard Executive Course has 18 challenging holes requiring shots over ravines and water. The course has six par 3s and three par 4s on each nine playing to a par 60 total. With a total of 12 par 3s there are plenty of opportunities to score a Hole-in-One. Throughout 2014, we have monthly tournaments on the third Friday of the month followed by a luncheon. Our next tournament on Jan. 17 is an Individual Stroke format. Returning members are reminded that they must have renewed their membership to be eligible to participate in this tournament. Tournament winners have money credited to their accounts that can be used at the Pro Shop or Restaurant/Lounge. At the luncheon there are also chances for winning prizes. Every week you can enter to win money for closest to the pin. All Sun Lakes male golfers are encouraged to come out on Friday mornings at 8:30 am at the North Clubhouse for a 9 am tee time. New member forms are available in the North Pro Shop and any interested new members are invited to join. We are open to any male Sun Lakes resident who is interested in golf fun and camaraderie. Travelers Coed Golf We are planning an April return to the Blue Water Resort & Spa to play golf at the Emerald Canyon Golf Course in Parker, AZ. The trip package includes a nice hotel room on April 14 and 15, and rounds of golf, including cart and prize money (for those with valid handicaps) on April 15 and 16. The initial trip deposit of $200 is due by Feb. 28, and the balance due by March 17. This is traditionally our most popular trip of the year, so plan now to join us and get in on some great fun! Everyone is welcome. The sign ups will soon be in our main Pro Shop. Couples Golf Couples golf is a great way to meet and play wonderful golf games. Matches are played each Sunday with a free quarterly luncheon following the match. The fees are $80 for 2014. There is a great deal of fun and excitement each week so join now by getting your registration form in the Pro Shop. Info., please call Jack Sidwell 769-9316. Women's Golf Membership applications are now out for 2014! Please join us in the Sun Lakes Women's Golf Club (S.L.W.G.C.) and enjoy 18 holes of golf on the championship course each Thursday morning and the first Saturday of the month. Our tournaments are flighted and a $65 membership fee includes a WSCGA sanctioned handicap. Come out and play a variety of golf games, meet new friends, and enjoy the Sun Lakes life! Put your renewal application with your check for $65 in our lock box in the Main Pro Shop. Golf If you love to play golf, socialize, and have a great time, then LEGS is the club for you. We meet at 8:30 am every Tuesday at the North Clubhouse for a 9 am tee time. We have varied tournaments with other golf clubs, mixed play, plus social and charity events throughout the year. On the third Tuesday of every month club members meet at the South Clubhouse for a short meeting and afterwards a catered lunch is served for just $10. Guests are always welcome.
