Dinner Dance Club Okay, gentlemen, this is the time of the year to get romantic and ask your favorite "gal" out for an evening of dining and dancing. Make this a very special evening! Let her know how much she means to you. The Dinner Dance Club is having a "formal" evening on Sat., Feb. 22 with the fabulous sounds of "Sky Line Express" playing our favorite songs beginning at 6 pm. The doors to the Main Clubhouse Ballroom will open at 5:30 pm giving everyone an opportunity to come, get their drinks and socialize with friends and neighbors. The entrees for this special evening give us a wide variety from which to choose. Three pork shanks fixed Asian style with wild rice and asparagus with carrots are available for $24. Perhaps you prefer the vegetarian choice which are two giant cheese ravioli topped with marinara and Parmesan cheese with asparagus and carrots on the side for $18. However, if you are a fish-lover, there will be Mediterranean flounder with wild rice and asparagus and carrots on the side for $23. With this being such a special evening, your dessert is going to be something chocolate and raspberry. Sign ups for this dance are Thurs., Feb. 13, at 2:30 pm in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. Come early and be ready for the 2:30 pm table drawing. If you have signed-up but find that you are unable to attend, call Carol Rhine at 845-5962 so she can make arrangements to have you pick up your meal. Looking forward to seeing you all dressed to "look like a million!" International Culture Club We will celebrate Valentine's Day, Thurs., Feb. 13, just one day off from the 14th. So aren't we lucky? Some of us will get to celebrate the occasion twice this year. A special time to show love and caring for family and friends. The Sophisticats will play for our dancing and listening pleasure and start at 6 pm. As most of you know, this band comes from San Diego, so they have quite a distance to travels. We more or less hired them blind several years ago, upon Evelyn's recommendation. They have been playing here ever since at different events. Doors will open at 5:30 pm. Our buffet menu for the evening starts at 6:30 pm by table call and is generally over by 7:30 pm. A strip loin carving station will be featured with sauce, chicken masala, mashed potatoes, seasonal squash, and vegetable medley. A green dinner salad with tomatoes and mushrooms with ranch and raspberry vinaigrette dressing will be table served along with warm dinner rolls and butter and red velvet cake dessert. Sign ups are Feb. 6, in the North Clubhouse at 3 pm for $22 a member, for a non-resident guest. You must be a member to attend if you live here; dues are $25 pp for the year and will run through December 2014. Stardust Dancers One facet of the Stardust Dancers that raises many questions is about the costuming. Since the inception of the group, the costumes have been beautifully made by a small group of members. We never do a show that does not bring up the subject. For the next show, Emily Alvarez and Carol Hurt are sharing the duties. Regulars, Florence Morch, Peggy Frederick, Mauren Heyen, and others will undoubtedly assist them.
