The Friendship Club We proudly present SUPREME REFLECTIONS, a tribute to Diana Ross and the Supremes. This show will be in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom, Feb. 9, hosted by special guest star, Motown producer, George Solomon. Doors open at 6 pm, show starts 7:15 pm. The Tony award winning Broadway hit, Dream Girls, which was loosely based on The Supremes, went on to become an Oscar winning film and is soon to have a revival on Broadway. Dream Girls presented new music, "Baby Love," "Stop! In The Name Of Love," "You Can't Hurry Love," etc. The ladies in this cast are multi-talented and have performed in scores of Broadway musicals and television shows ranging from soap operas to Star Search, they are young and possess the dynamic qualities of the classic entertainers from another generation. Most importantly, their interpretations of "The Supreme's" vocals are so true to the original recordings that it must be pointed out that they are singing live and not lip- syncing. Supreme Reflections is a full-scale musical comedy revue that will thrill Sun Lakers and give new appreciation to the three classy ladies from Detroit who became and remain the most popular female group in the world. Next month, on March 9, celebrate the best duets of stage and screen, in a musical review called, "It Takes Two," as Broadway veterans, Stan and Kirsten Chandler recreate some of the most compelling musical twosomes of our time. Stan Chandler (from the original cast of "Forever Plaid") and Kirsten Chandler (from the original cast of "The Marvelous Wonderettes") met six years ago when cast as husband and wife in a new musical, and they quickly discovered that their voices and hearts were perfectly in tune. Now married, they lend that unique chemistry to classic couplings throughout the century. From Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy to Judy Garland and Gene Kelly; from the immortal stylings of Cole Porter, Irving Berlin and Rodgers and Hart to the more contemporary flavors of Stephen Sondheim and Andrew Lloyd Webber… no delightful duet goes unsung! It all unfolds in the able hands of this versatile musical theatre duo, as they dive headfirst into romance, clever lyrics, soaring harmonies, and even a bit of hilarious role-switching in this funny, touching, unforgettable evening of song. Members $20. Non-resident guests $25. For more info., call Roz-769-3757, for Supreme Reflections, or Susan 769-0801, for "It Takes Two."
