Friends we will miss W. Maxine (Maxi) Boyne It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Maxi Boyne, on Monday, January 6, 2014. Always a fighter, she wanted to stay with us but God had other plans for her. Born in Cygnet, OH, on August 2, 1928, to Addison and Rosa Creps, she lived in Ohio and Michigan until 1986 when she and her husband Terry moved to southern California. They became residents of the Sun Lakes community in 1998. Before her health began to fail, she enjoyed golf, paddle ball and participating Art League events and her home was filled with the artwork she so lovingly painted. She could be found at many of the club functions, enjoying the music and dancing the night away, especially when her husband's combo was the evening's entertainment. Her friends, family and little dog Amy were her greatest joys. She was beautiful inside and out, and her loss has created a void that cannot be filled. Keeping her in their hearts always are her husband of 43 years, Terry Boyne, her children Sherry (Bob) Hayes, Krista Switzer, Jackie Switzer and Brad (Diane Mitchell) Switzer. Also surviving are her stepchildren Kirk Boyne, Craig Boyne and Linda Chopin, as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren. . Edward Neal Jolly passed away peacefully on December 28, 2013 at home surrounded by his beloved wife Janette and family members. Born December 17, 1923 in Hoquiam, Washington, Ed grew up on the Olympic Peninsula. Ed joined the U.S. Army in 1942; he served in North Africa, Italy, and France, and was discharged in 1945 just days before the end of the War. Ed married Janette Olson on August 4, 1945. They were happily married for 68 years. Ed had a long and successful career in the Forest Products industry from his early years as a foreman and superintendent of mills in Oregon, and later in executive management positions in a number of firms. After retiring, Ed joined his wife Janette in running Redlands-based ERA Jolly Realty. Ed and Janette moved to Redlands in 1974 and then to Sun Lakes in 1989. Ed and his wife enjoyed home life, golfing, and travel. Ed and Jan were active members of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Beaumont. Ed is survived by his wife Janette of Sun Lakes; son Greg (Marlene) Jolly of Oracle, AZ, daughter Linda Greene of Portland, OR; daughter Annette (Ken) Barrackman of Beaverton, OR; three grandsons; and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church on January 3, 2014. Burial will be at Tacoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington. Sydney Lynn Tibbetts passed away on November 13, 2013, after a prolonged battle with cancer. She was born in Santa Monica and raised in the Montclair/Upland area. Sydney graduated from Upland High School and received her Bachelor's degree from Regis University in Denver, and her master's and educational specialist degrees from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Sydney worked for over 20 years as a teacher in the Victor Valley High School district and Hesperia Unified School District. She had a passion for traveling, reading, sewing, knitting, quilting and scrap booking. Sydney and her husband became puppy raisers for Guide Dogs of the Desert, an organization that provides service animals for the blind and visually impaired. Sydney inspired her friends and family with her strength and compassion for others. There never was a child or animal in need that she didn't find a way to help, often bringing both into her home to nurture and love. She is survived by Kert, her husband of over 43 years; son Matthew Tibbetts; daughter Stacey Sabin; five grandchildren, Makayla, Jamie, Lauren and Aiden Tibbets and Willie Sabin; her mother, Lynn Blees, her brother, Darryl Carlson, nieces, nephews, and 30 grand nieces and nephews. Sydney's last wish that donations be made to sponsor a guide dog named Sydney, to provide a legacy for years to come. Please make donations to http://guidedogsofthedesert.org/puppyteam-r-u.html.
