Shuffleboard Another season zoomed past us again, but wait, let's do something different for a short time on our off-season of Shuffleboard. Let's play a four week period with no awards, no luncheon, no Championship Game to compete in. It will be for fun with no activity fee, no official schedule and no pressure. Each two person team will organize other team players at each meeting with players in their League Time. If we get enough players to sign up we can start once we determine to have several start times and will have all the equipment ready to go when you get there. At the end of the four week schedule, we will plan a barbeque at the grill area, and you cook, we can organize a share menu with request of salad or dessert. This can be a learning opportunity for new players, so don't hesitate, there is no pressure but you will learn something about shuffleboard so that you can sign up for our regular season this fall. After all that, we will gather in a group and take a picture to be featured in our new Four Seasons Hemet Herald Magazine. Watch for a sign up book which will be at the Front Desk of the Lodge sometime in March. Contact Chairperson Ross Brunetto at (951) 9268295. Table Tennis If you are interested in participating, please contact Arie Groenendyk at (619) 889-6263 or email: ariegdutch@yahoo. com. We meet in the Aerobics room on Tuesdays, from 3 to 5 pm. Come join the fun! Pickleball The weather is downright cold some mornings, but that doesn't stop those who play pickleball! On any given Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday morning, beginning at 7:30 a.m, you can find a group at the pickleball courts. Pickleball is played on a scaled down size tennis court, with a small racket and a hard wiffle-like ball. We play doubles and switch partners after every game. The hardest part is keeping score. We are open to all players, all skill levels and we have extra rackets and balls, so come on out, we'll teach you how to play. We also like to get together socially. For more information, please contact Maggie Aguirre at (951) 325-8116 or Leonard Gleason at (714) 318-4591. Come on out and join the fun. Bocce Club When you read this month's news article we will have already celebrated the new Bocce Champions with a Great Banquet and Awards for Second and First Place Winners. As most of our regular Bocce Players know, we are now in the off season for the time being, but that does not mean Bocce stops. You may want to think about signing up for our Bocce Scramble Game to get a head start. We plan to have sign ups in February at the Front Desk of the Lodge. You will need to sign for the time you would like to play and if we get enough players, we can start in March. This is for Two Person Players and you will play the full length of the Bocce Courts. Some of the rules are different but most of the players from last year liked playing with two players on each side with no referee's. You don't need them since your partner is on the other side waiting to roll the Bocce Balls back to the team that started first. Come try it out, we know you will learn some different techniques to get the Ball to the other side. This is a perfect opportunity for New Players to come out and try Bocce. We play for four weeks only, one game each week, we have no Awards, and you pay no money. This is for fun, and something different with Bocce. At the end of the games, we will cchedule a barbeque outside at the grills, each person will bring what they would like to BBQ, and a side dish to share, and we will all take a group picture and feature our experience displayed in our new Four Seasons Hemet Herald Magazine. Hope to see new and returning players for a fun month. Chairperson, Ross Brunetto, (951) 926-8295. | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | February 2014 | 28
