It has been suggested that members may wish to learn more about the laws that govern Associations. There is a website resource at www.davis-stirling.com or you may request additional information from the Management office in regards to the rewrite of the Davis-Stirling Common Interest Development Act (the civil code that applies to Associations) which was effective Jan. 1, 2014. Billiard room Tips In December, at the request of the Four Seasons 8-Ball Club, the Board of Directors approved maintenance expenses on the Association billiard tables. This maintenance is generally required every two to three years. This work included replacing the felt coverings, replacing the rail cushions, polishing the edges, balancing and leveling the tables. In order to maintain the new coverings and cushions, please review the following guidelines: 1. Never sit on the table edges for any reason, bridges are provided for hard to reach shots. Putting weight on the sides of the table can affect the balance, pull on the felt or distort the cushions. 2. Please do not attempt MASSE' or JUMP SHOTS on the tables. These shots require the elevation of the back of the pool cue radically to chop down toward the table surface. This is a threat to rip and/or tear the felt surface and require complete replacement of the felt prematurely. 3. When breaking the balls to begin play, please use the provided circular break pads under the cue ball. This prevents an errant stroke from accidentally ripping the felt. The break pads are kept in the corner pockets nearest the head rail end of the table where the cue is placed for breaking the rack. 4. Please, no eating in the billiards room and drink only from containers that have sealed lids. This prevents spills and stains. With your cooperation the Billiards Room and billiard tables can be made to last and prolong the periods between maintenance that will save the inconvenience and expense. 8 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2014 | COMMUNItY NEWS Manager's Update By Lisa Lynn, General Manager
