COMMUNItY NEWS | FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2014 11 Activities Director Corner By Cindy Graves, Activities Director The bulbs are popping their little heads up through the snow (on the east coast) and new life is springing up everywhere! February events are bringing opportunity for a new year and new life, starting with our Women's Day of Encouragement on Saturday, Feb. 1. There will be free glamor shots from 12:30 to 1 pm before the show for ladies who would like to have their picture taken by themselves or with girlfriends. The show will be from 1 to 4 pm. I won't go into much detail here because I've covered it in depth previously, but I hope you can come and get encouraged! Lots of interesting speakers, lots of community businesses and restaurants donated prizes to be given away; there will be some tasty snacks, as well as things you always wanted to know but were afraid to ask. I hope I see you there! This is a free event. On Feb. 8, the African American Culture Club will be having a special Black History Program from 12 to 2:30 pm. Southern Style refreshments will be served. Everyone is welcome with a $5 ticket. Check with Roxie (951) 769-2517 or the Lodge for more information. Ready for an entertaining, inexpensive Valentine's Day? Come down to the Lodge to watch the Arthur Murray Dance Show on Feb. 14 in the Ballroom at 6:30 pm. Feel free to bring your dinner, purchase a special Valentine dinner for two at the Bistro, or just carry in your favorite beverage. Immediately following the dance show will be an opportunity for you to dance too! There is no price of admission, just show up for the fun. Want another great Valentine's Day option? How about a live band and Dinner-Dance on Saturday, Feb. 15? The delicious dinner includes chicken and Tri-Tip. Tickets are only $20 and can be purchased up until Feb. 10. Call Gary or Puring Stifter: (951) 922-8333. The good time begins at 4:30 pm at the Lodge Ballroom. Everyone who has been yelling for another live W-FSB Radio Show performance, scream no more! Tom Shelley and crew will be back again on Friday, Feb. 21 at 6 pm in the Lodge Ballroom. This is a "Bring-in-your- dinner-and-drinks" performance and as usual everyone is invited. No cost and no sign up sheets. Lastly, to conclude our Black History celebration month, there will be a "Steppin in Black and White" Dance with yummy southern home cooking. Come on down and dance your heart out to music of the era. Black and white attire is suggested. Tickets are only $10. Call Brenda Dixon for more information and for tickets. Have a wonderful February and see ya around the Lodge!
