16 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2014 | COMMUNITY NEWS COMMUNITY NEWS | FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2014 17 Forty days and forty nights of winter drought (biblical duration) ended with a teasing sprinkle on the last day of January followed by a real rain on groundhog day. since Pauxatauny Phil saw his shadow and predicts six more weeks of winter, what does that portend for Four seasons? My Koi have come out of winter hibernation so these locals predict winter is over. our confused plant life will not know whether to hibernate or bloom. i'm sure the weeds will quickly figure out what to do. still another of our trees bordering Four seasons Circle made the ultimate sacrifice and jumped in front of a speeding car — the third one to make the leap. our landscapers have opened up a hot line for these plants to counsel them on other avenues of making their point. Marking of our trails at 100 yard intervals has begun. Trails a and B and parallel Potrero Creek and Trail C runs from Trail B near the east end of green Creek Trail up the hill to goodrich rock. all three trails will have markers at both ends along with the distance markers. Trail d is yet to be built and Trail e (edison easement) will be marked at a later date. March Madness at Four seasons is not about hoops but weeds. overnight, like Jack's infamous beans, they sprout and shoot up all over the community getting a head start on other plant life. our contractors weed planter areas once a week and in the interval a large crop of these undesirables can flourish. homeowners can assist by pulling weeds in their yards between contractor service. The Landscape Committee has openings for interested volunteers. Plant knowledge is not required as we have landscape professionals. What is needed is the desire to walk around the community and report on the status of plant life and any unusual growth. ~ Leonard Tavernetti Landscape Committee at our January meeting, we reviewed the Financial statements for december 2013 which reflected the following significant items: Net income year-to- date was $231,029 and total reserves were $3,998,953. The accounts receivable (delinquencies) was $67,631. our total hoa expenses for december (excluding reserve allocations) were $171,765. This was under budget by $51,356. There were five Cd renewals to be reviewed. The Front yard Cost Center for the year 2013, excluding the special assessment, had a loss of $266. The springdale Cost Center expenses for december 2013 were over budget by $3,746. year-to-date expenses for the springdale Cost Center were over budget by $2,308. The springdale Cost Center for the year 2013 had a loss of $2,309. There were six vendor proposals presented for approval. Wayne staples reported on the past due accounts. Current owners were 14 and former owners three. Wage garnishments, payment plans and small claims court actions are ongoing against the 14 current homeowners on the december delinquency list, a very small part of the 1,100+ homeowners in the community. The former homeowner category has shown the most improvement since June of last year with only three accounts still on the list, all of whom are current with their payment plans. our next meeting will be March 25, at 1 pm in the Lodge Conference room. all homeowners are encouraged to attend. ~ Noel Myers Finance Committee Performing Arts Club do you have your tickets purchased yet? if not, there is still time, but don't delay or you will be left out. seating is limited, so you won't be crowded and there will be no bad seats in the house. don't forget in between act i and act ii will be the delightful dinner of your choice with all the trimmings.
