COMMUNITY NEWS | FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2014 7 6 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2014 | COMMUNITY NEWS The CommunICaTIons CommITTee By Leighton McLaughlin The Communications Committee communicates in a big way — it is responsible for the Four Seasons Breeze Magazine and website. The committee meets twice a month, once for general administrative purposes — including planning for the next month's Breeze edition — and once about a week later to edit that month's edition. The committee receives stories from residents about club, group and committee activities — and about any other topics of general interest to the community. Committee members also write some articles. The committee has final say about what material is accepted, with an eye to good taste, importance to the community, the amount of space in the Breeze, libel laws and laws regarding privacy. Both the Breeze and the website hope to promote Four seasons, to inform its residents of matters of interest and importance to them and occasionally to entertain them. among the standing features that appear every month are: • General managers' update, in which General manager lisa lynn updates the community about Board actions and activity of the management company • Activity Director corner, where Activity Director cindy Graves tells us about the doings within the community, those just past and soon upcoming. • neighborly notes, where committee member Bobbie Eckel talks about events in the community and outside Four seasons' gates that are of interest to residents. • chef 's corner, in which committee chairman randy Balt reveals to all the secrets of his culinary artistry. • Four seasons spotlight, that picks some aspect of Four seasons, its residents, employees, activities or interests for a closer look. • Activities calendar, a listing of all scheduled events for the month. it is placed in the middle of the magazine so it can be easily removed and taped to the refrigerator. • contact information, which lists the phone numbers of the Potrero gate and the Euclid management company office, among others, and the names of Euclid employees, the members of the hoA committees, and much more. also, every committee, club and group in Four seasons is invited to submit an article every month outlining its activities and informing its members of events. articles and photos must be submitted by noon on the 9th of the month before publication. and the Breeze is a real bargain for Four seasons. it costs nothing. it is designed and printed by image up advertising & design, owned by Courtney Taylor. image up sells ads and receives the income from them, then produces and mails the Breeze at no cost to the hoa. The website, at fourseasonsbeaumont.com, is another goldmine of information about our community. it has a home page with news that broke too late for inclusion in the Breeze and current and back issues of the Breeze. it also has a compilation of all our governing documents — the CC&rs, the Bylaws, Community guidelines, Committee Charters and the like, the forms to fill out for the architectural review Committee or to run for office or to change your address, verify your age or request use of a Lodge facility. you can find the movie schedule on the website, a picture album of recent events, or the "Who you gonna Call" directory with numbers to call if among other things, your street light burns out, the neighbor's dog barks too loud or a water main breaks. The homeowner directory — with the latest additions and deletions — is also on the site. a Communications subcommittee just finished work refining the website, making it more user friendly and easier to navigate. it's a great place to find updates in the activities Calendar and other late news. The members of the committee are Chairman randy Balt, editor Leighton McLaughlin and members Bobbie eckel, Phil Jaffe, Patty Jordan and Melody seewoster. Board President Jacque sneddon is Board liaison and activities director graves is the euclid Management representative to the committee. foUr SEaSonS SPotLiGHt Four seasons at Beaumont has a fresh new website with several exciting features.
