April General Meeting: Suni Godbold will demonstrate her watercolor technique at the General Meeting on Sun., April 27, at 2 pm at the South Clubhouse. All Sun Lakes residents are invited. It will be a very interesting demonstration! The winners of the mini-show at the February meeting (photo right) were as follows: 1st: Lu Just; 2nd: Rosa Gascoigne; 3rd: Nikki Corbett. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners were chosen by those attending the meeting. The Best of Show winner was Jeanette Burks chosen by Bhadraji (Bud) Jayatilaka, the demo artist at the meeting. Art classes in various mediums are held four Mondays each month in the Main Clubhouse Arts & Crafts Room from 9 am to 12 noon. The guest artist for April is resident Bridgette Greb who will teach pastels. This class is Mondays, April 7, 14, 21 and 28, and is for all levels of experience. Chess 4 Fun We invite players of all skill levels for social play and gladly encourage new players to join. We meet Saturdays in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room, 1 - 5 pm, and the 1st, 3rd and 4th Monday, 6 - 9 pm. Bring your Chess set and clocks, if you have them, so we will not run short. For players new to chess, we recommend learning the fundamentals of the game before engaging in play with others. There are excellent tutorials on YouTube and throughout the Internet which will give you the needed skills to begin playing. It is not necessary to have a partner or to sign up in advance. Info., Lynn at 769-1868. Duplicate For Fun The Sun Lakes Duplicate Bridge Club meets on Tuesdays at 6 pm in the North Clubhouse. The game does not earn Master Points, but it allows players to enjoy the experience of duplicate bridge without the competitive stress that sometimes occurs in sanctioned games.
