Just stop by. ~ Rob Kelman Creative Drawing & Sketching Class Knitting & Crocheting We had two new members this past month, one who is just learning and another experienced. It is a lot of fun to teach and watch the progress. If you are interested in learning, please join us. We are also planning another outing for lunch in March, which is always enjoyable. All the ladies are working on a project item or a personal item. We meet every Tuesday from 10 to about 11:30 am. ~ Dorothy Payne February and March were so fulfilling for Believe. We had several new faces each week, for which we are grateful. Although each of the women is very busy, they all find the time to study the Word. Discussions have been very enlightening, and participation is always encouraged. Our study for these two months encompassed God's immense love for each of us, as verified by so many verses in the Bible. At the first meeting in March, one of the members of the class offered to let us show a clip from a video, Focus on the Family's Truth Project, wherein the verse in Psalm 139:14 (our bodies "are fearfully and wonderfully made") showed us how truly amazingly intricate our bodies are, and we only touched on the cells! It has been a beautiful journey to discover what the Bible says about the Lord's powerful love for us. April will bring us to a study of how we show our individual love for God, what He expects of us, and how we can learn through the various situations He plants in our path. All of the women in the group have shared amazing experiences and insights, and we are all growing as a result. If you are interested in a beautiful spiritual journey with amazing women, please consider joining our group which meets every Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 am in the first section of the Ballroom. It's a non-denominational study, and all women are welcome. Hope to see you there! ~ Eileen Gilbert-Antoine "Believe:" Women's Bible Study e Chavurah & Havdalah Club Machine Quilting This is the current project that we are doing right now. We enjoyed bagels, cream cheese and lox and hamantaschen to celebrate Purim. April is Passover and most will be celebrating our Seders with our families. At this writing, there are three couples who will come together for a Seder at one of our homes. If you are interested in joining us, please call Toni Finer at (951) 769-0351. If you have suggestions for future events that you would enjoy, please let us know. ~ Toni Finer Work by the Artist of the Month Annie Parque We meet the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm in the Craft Room at the Lodge. Our April meeting will be April 15. Visitors are always welcome. We invite all photographers, regardless of skill level, to join us for our regular meetings and field trips. Members are always eager to help and teach. We discuss photography, photo software, hardware, and related subjects of interest. On a voluntary basis, members offer their photographs for critique which is a great learning experience for all. Remember, this is purely voluntary. Our alternative photo project is ongoing (i.e. we bring a picture of a specific genre we all agree on). For the February meeting, several members responded to our voluntary assignment by bringing a DVD of a slide show, any subject, two to three minutes in length using the outline handout given to us at the January meeting. We adjourned to the theatre to watch the DVDs; in total, there were about six of them. Wow! I was impressed as to the quality and also, so much knowledge was gained from the critique of each one by our chairperson, George Johnson. That's the great thing about our club. If you desire, you don't have to volunteer any pictures (or DVD in this case), just sit back and learn from the discussions and critiques. Also in our February meeting, George lead a discussion on composition of photographs. You know, all of the "rules" and then when it's perfectly acceptable to forget about them. So, our March meeting assignment was be to bring (remember, voluntary) a picture using one or more of the composition suggestions. Many of us did and we had a great learning discussion. Still under consideration are Living Desert (March/April) and Huntington Library and Gardens (April/May). All suggestions are welcome. Hope to see you at one of our meetings soon.
