4 OUR YUCAIPA | MAY 2014 | CHAMBER OF COMMERCE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE | OUR YUCAIPA | MAY 2014 5 Mission Statement The Yucaipa Valley Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to promoting a vibrant business environment by cooperative interaction among business, government and community For more information, call (909) 790-1841 • Fax (909) 363-7373 35139 Yucaipa Blvd., Yucaipa, CA 92399 info@yucaipachamber.org Days are getting longer, fresh lemonade is made, ice cream is better, tans are coming back, the lawn needs mowing, catfish are being stocked in the regional park, the Beach Boys are on the radio, baseball season has started, life is good, it must be summer because the Yucaipa Music and Arts Festival is here along with the Certified Farmers Market! Sometimes the wife just needs to get away for a couple of days and she even allowed me to come along this time. We went all the way to Idyllwild to enjoy their great community in the local mountains. We walked around town and visited boutiques, antique stores, clothing stores, local artist shops. We saw some of their upcoming events being advertised, Squirrel Festival, Jazz festival, Lemon Lilly Festival, to name a few. What wonderful reasons to come back to enjoy some local fun, but uptown Yucaipa has all this and more! Remember May 2 and every Friday evening from 6 to 9 pm in historic uptown Yucaipa (1st Street to Adams Street) and going forward is the kickoff of the Certified Farmers Market, this is also the weekend for the Music and Arts Festival. The Certified Farmer's Market will run through Sept. 26 and wrap up with the Fall Festival. The market will feature fresh, locally grown produce, live entertainment, food and merchandise vendors, beer/wine garden, classic car show every fourth Friday, Special Kid's Night activities on the 1st Friday of each month, special events on California Street and many, many other activities and events. My wife and I are proud to be a part of such a great community, maybe next time we will just stay at home and enjoy the fun in our own backyard. ~ Jim Hammond, Chairman Yucaipa Valley Chamber of Commerce a message from the chairman 2014 Board of Directors Chairman, Jim Hammond Comfort Keepers Chair-Elect, Nancy Kenny PrimeLending Finance Vice-Chair, Jason Ross Law Office of Linda Roberts-Ross Directors Dr. Cheryl Marshall Crafton Hills College Dora Ordonez Asaderos Restaurant & Supermarket Cheryl Benton NuSkin Eric Vreeman YCJUSD Jeff Dewan Edward Jones Financial Advisors Lynnette Alvarado Wildwood Canyon Villa CHAMBER STAFF Pamela Emenger, President/CEO Ellen Benefiel, Membership Development Coordinator AMBASSADOR TEAM David Avila, Retired Cal Fire Battalion Chief Cheryl Benton, NuSkin Pamela Brierley-Vengarick, Good Nite Inn Marlyn Crampton, Yucaipa Rotary Club Jeff Dewan, Edward Jones Marie Feuer, Life Path Healings Brandy Gomez, Law Office of Linda Roberts-Ross Debbie Harber, Sequoia Digital Marketing Nancy Kenny, PrimeLending Michelle Lopez, AVON Paul Norwood, Safe Harbor Internet Services Dora Ordonez, Asaderos Supermarket Samantha Short, Yucaipa Wellness Center 1: SBHBB Breakfast 8 am at Valerie Menefee State Farm 34366 Yucaipa Blvd., Suite I Fleur Salon Ribbon Cutting Ceremony 10 am 33733 Yucaipa Blvd., Suite 2 Economic Development Advisory Committee 5:30 pm City Hall Community Meeting Room 2: Yucaipa Music & Arts Festival, 6 - 10 pm 3: Yucaipa Music & Arts Festival, 11 am - 10 pm 4: Yucaipa Music & Arts Festival, 12 noon - 8 pm 5: Chamber office closed 6: Ambassador Committee Meeting 11:30 am La Mexicana Restaurant, 31608 Yucaipa Blvd., Ste. 3 Farmers Market Comm.
