Seasoned Solos #2 Hello everyone! This will be my last article for the group. Once again a senior singles group at Four Seasons-Hemet has failed to form. At the last several planned events no one has shown up. I have tried many different scenarios. I have tried meeting on different days of the week, mornings and evenings, staying here, and going away. Maybe there is just too much going on here at Four Seasons. That's a good thing! In the past six months, since the first meeting Oct. 2013 (where 42 senior singles showed up), we have only had one event since and only 10 people showed up. There was a suggestion and idea meeting on Jan. 31. At this meeting I thought our group would move forward, some individuals volunteered to help, but unfortunately nothing has materialized. Good luck to everyone, have some fun, enjoy life! TGIF Vintage Voices Here are the bare facts… WHEN: First and third Friday of each month TIME: 5 pm and mingle for 30 minutes prior to eating WHERE: Ballroom at the Lodge WHAT: Celebrating It's Friday! Emcee introduces first time visitors, anyone celebrating a birthday and/or anniversary, and those lucky ones get to be first in line for the buffet. WHAT TO BRING: Either a main course, salad or dessert that will serve 8 to 10 people. Also bring your own plate, flatware, drink ware, and your favorite beverage. Coffee and tea are provided. Join in the fun, good conversations and delicious home cooked food at the next TGIF! You can meet new people, mingle with old friends, and enjoy good fellowship. The 2014 TGIF team will be chaired by Marilyn and Gerry Edmonds and their team will include Jennifer and Scott Beaudreau, Judy and David McLean, Sally and Russ Fleer, Jackie and Ray Latta, Kay and Bob Scales, and Linda and Bob Morriss. We look forward to seeing all you newbies (first time visitors), those celebrating a May birthday and or anniversary at the next TGIF! If you have any questions please call Marilyn Edmonds at (951) 264-1811. See you there! Join us on May 25, promptly at 4 pm, in the Lodge Ballroom for a remembrance of our veterans who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country, family, and friends. A Color Guard will bring in the flags representing all branches of military service as well as the MIA flag. This will be an amazing experience watching the flags being presented and hearing songs honoring war time vets, and remembering their service. The concert is free.
