hank you, for taking the time to read your community news magazine, the Hemet Herald. On Monday, May 26 our nation will pause and solemnly reflect on the significance of Memorial Day. Tears will fall and thoughts of warriors we never knew, as well as those we did, will wander quietly within the recesses of our minds. They bought and paid for our freedom. We have not forgotten, nor will we ever forget those who "gave their all." While considering these matters, the words "In Memoriam" came to mind. Accordingly, we have decided to dedicate this message from your Board to the memory of our residents and or their family members to whom we have said our last farewell. For all of our tribulations, real or imagined, we live in a closely knit community. We have heard time and again that more sincere and lasting friendships have been forged among our residents than at any time during our pre-retirement years. If there is a down side to this, it is when we experience all too frequently, the loss of these special friends. The fragile state of our own mortality hits home, but it should be a wake up call to re-examine our relationships with our friends and neighbors. If something needs repairing, do it now. Trust me, in your heart you will be glad that you did. "In Memoriam." I cannot tell you how easy it was to find the words to bid farewell to so many dear friends within this community. Likewise I cannot begin to tell you how hard it was to say them. So, to all of you who have lost a loved one, here is a message from those of us left behind. It comes from the heart with the hope that it might ease some of the pain. We little knew upon that day That God would call your name, In life we loved you dearly, In death, we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, But you did not go alone, For part of us went with you… The day God called you home. You left us beautiful memories, Your love is still our guide, And though we cannot see you You are always at our side The family chain is broken, And nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one The chain will link again… Sincerely, and on behalf of your Board of Directors, Tony, Ken, Greg, Ross, Russ & Carey.
