On April 19, members of the Sun Lakes Photo Group enjoyed a field trip to the beautiful Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens in San Marino. The weather was in the high 70s, and many of the flowers and plants were near peak bloom. Individually and in groups of two or three, we wandered the 200+ acres of grounds, shooting our favorite grand scenes and flower close-ups. Some returned more than once to the Desert Garden for shots of both the usual and the unusual cacti and succulents found there. Others spent more time in the Japanese Garden to get the perfect composition of pond lilies, bridge, and bonsai plants. Meeting in mid-day for a quick lunch at the centrally-located cafe, we reported on our experiences, shared a few photos, then took off again for another couple of hours of fun! Now the challenge is to turn some of these shots into winners in our monthly photo contest! Photography Welcome everyone to our June information.
