32 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JUNE 2014 | CLUBS & GROUpS CLUBS & GROUpS | FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JUNE 2014 33 What a fun group we have! We're comprised of many types of individuals. Many are talented, some funny, others like to lead, while others prefer staying in the background. Lastly and thankfully, are those willing to lend a hand. We are fun, we have fun, and hopefully we bring you fun, enjoyable entertainment. We had a really nice crowd, at our 55+ Comedy Show in late April. All the acts were fantastic but The Real Men of Four Seasons were absolutely hysterical, and well deserving of the standing ovation they received. If you enjoyed this show and would like more like this one, please let us know. hElP WAntED: 1. A technical person for sound and lights! Background in electronics, sound systems, alarms, telecommunications, or anything in the technical/electronic area. We can really use your knowledge, support and time for performances in the Ballroom and Amphitheater. You can be a manager or advisor, depending on the amount of time you can offer. 2. Four very out-going women. Must be agile, like to have fun, immodest, any body type is fine, plays well with others, no talent needed! WhAt's cominG uP nExt? JunE June is a quiet month for PAC activities. We urge you to look at The Calendar in The Breeze, to see what's going on regarding Friday Night's at the Lodge. They are entertaining evenings of varying types, from magicians (Magic Night is 6/21 in the Amphitheater) to classical concerts to fun games to singers or dancers and so much more. July In July, it's time to celebrate our Independence. PAC will be producing an afternoon, family oriented, variety show. We're still looking for additional talent, so come show us what you've got! You don't have to join the club to be part of the entertainment. sEPtEmBEr In September, we'll have you rolling in the aisles again. On Sept. 27, PAC presents "Laugh Out Loud," a G-rated comedy revue geared to seniors. How can that not be funny? What about our beloved Radio Shows? There is one more scheduled for the second half of the year. Again, there will be two plays performed. Anyone interested in trying their hand at acting, this is the way to go. No memorizing… you get to read your lines. It is based on radio, after all. If you are interested in joining our club or sharing your talents, please fill out a form (lobby) and return it to the front desk. We hope to hear from you. We meet on the second Thursday of each month at 7 pm in the Conference Room. There we discuss current music performances. Most of the time is devoted to exploring a selection for the month. We welcome new members. Contact Steve Bennoff at steve. benoff@verizon.net or (310) 413-4896. ~ Steve Benoff We are continuing to rehearse for the 4th of July Celebration at the Lodge. Hope you come out to hear us and enjoy the rest of the celebration. We meet Mondays, from 3 to 5 pm. For further information, you can contact Barbara Wasco at (951) 797-3466 or e-mail bawasco@dc.rr.com. ~ Barbara Wasco Four Seasons Singers NOTE: Because the Amphitheater concert for June has been scheduled for the 8th, we are cancelling our June 8 screening. On Sunday, June 22 at 6 pm, we will be screening the film Frances Ha (Netherlands 2012, 86 minutes, in English). Here is a brief description from IMDB.com: "Frances lives in New York, but she doesn't really have an apartment. Frances is an apprentice for a dance company, but she's not really a dancer. Frances has a best friend named Sophie, but they aren't really speaking anymore. Frances throws herself headlong into her dreams, even as their possible reality dwindles. Frances wants so much more than she has but lives her life with unaccountable joy and lightness." All of our screenings are followed by lively discussion about the film; we'd love it if you join us! The Lodge Theatre has very limited seating, so if you're interested in our screenings, come early — we hope to see you there. Scheduled for July: Sound City on July 13, and Gloria on July 27. Please note that all films announced are subject to availability. If you have any questions or want to recommend a film, please e-mail Micki Rosen at michelesrosen@gmail.com. ~ Micki Rosen Performing Arts Club Besides learning to cherish and understand God's Word, this Bible study has evolved into many things: A facilitator for new friendships, a plethora of problem- solving answers, a place of talent discovery, and a mutual sharing of feelings and insights. Overall, each time we meet we enrich and teach each other. In May we began studying what the Bible tells us about showing our love to God. We took two weeks to discuss what our attitude and demeanor should be when we go before the Lord in prayer. From there we merged into the subject of prayer: how to pray, when to pray, praise in prayer, humility in prayer, etc. Our June lessons will take us through what the Word tells us about different ways to praise God and showing our love for Him through our patience and perseverance in lovingly interacting with others. The rest of the year we will be studying the subjects listed in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. If any of you Four Seasons women are seeking a non- denominational study of the Word of God, please join this amazing group of women every Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 am in the first section of the Lodge Ballroom. All women are welcome and encouraged to come and learn with us. See you there! ~ Eileen Gilbert-Antoine "Believe:" Women's Bible Study
