There will be no general meeting during the month of June. Our next meeting is Thurs., July 17 at 1 pm in the Arts and Crafts Room. Now that we are having our meetings every other month, our meetings and demos for the remainder of this year will be in July, September, and November. Lucia K. Wolfer will be our demonstrator in July and will show us techniques about "Transferring Images And Using Digital Grounds." During June, Barbro Evans will exhibit her artwork on the Lodge Gallery Wall and as of this writing, Barbara Kenyon and Mike Yeager will be showing their artwork in the cabinet. If you wish to exhibit either your art or crafts, please fill out the form and put it in the box in the Lodge. We will inform the people who are chosen three months in advance of their actual display. On Sat., Oct. 18, in conjunction with the car show, the fine artists of the league will have their annual show in the Ballroom, whereas the crafters will be outside under tents. More information about these shows will become available as we get closer to the date of the event. Our talented and experienced teachers offer many classes including acrylics, tole painting, tatting, memoir writing, watercolor, drawing, calligraphy and more. She first learned to draw caricature at a young age by watching her father draw. She began sewing in her teens and quilting as a hobby in her twenties, a nice break from running a busy medical transcription service from home. She sketched clothing designs and quilts, which somehow progressed to the desire to make expressive fine art quilts. Her art quilts have traveled to numerous venues across the country. More recently, she has enjoyed working with resin-type finishes as an overlay to mixed media art. Additionally, after taking the drawing class here offered by Lois Stipp, she discovered scratch art, taking second place in drawing at the Festival of the Arts in 2013 at the Diamond Valley Arts Council. Pamela has taken workshops by other artisans but considers herself to be mostly a self-taught artist. She also enjoys photography, mosaics, making handbags, as well as abstract acrylic painting.
