Bob and Diane Haunschild say "great eats" at Steve's Burgers. Also great breakfast with lots of nice choices. They think it's reasonably priced, good portions, and lots of variety on the menu. Anyone want to challenge that Steve's Burger is the "best burger" in Hemet? Then give us your favorite hamburger joint in Hemet! Isla del Encanto, 500 South State Street (north of 7th St.), San Jacinto, 654-6835: This Eastern Caribbean/ Puerto Rican restaurant is very authentic with delicious food prepared and served by the owner's family. Entrees range in price from $6 to $12. A few suggestions… the Fricassee de Pollo, a flavorful chicken stew, Carne Guisado, a very tender beef stew or the Chicken Empanadas on the appetizer menu. Open Tues. through Sat., 11 am to 8 pm, Sun., 11 am to 6 pm, and closed Monday. Thank you Sandi Arneson, sounds great and can't wait to try it! Out & About Dear Four Seasons Residents, Many of you have watched the local news channels talk about California's "Drought Emergency." The Governor has issued this mandate and we are only beginning to see the affects this event will have and how it will impact not only the association, but individual homeowners financially as well. One area I want to cover is outdoor water usage. Based on a recent tour of our community, it is evident that many residents are over-watering their back yards. The evidence is in the drainpipes at the front curbing. Please take a few moments and take a look at your curb drains. There should be minimal water coming out and the pipe should be free of green mossy-looking gunk. If it is not, the back yard is being over-watered. The quickest fix is to check the times on your irrigation controller and adjust them accordingly. If your pipes need flushing out, when you are doing so, please make an effort to collect the build-up and dispose of it in your trash container. Please do not hose it down to your neighbor's house. Summer is almost here! We recently sent out the new "Rules and Regulations" magazine to all residents and off-site owners. Please become familiar with them, especially the pool rules. When having your kids and grandkids over this summer, please make sure you follow the rules by accompanying them to the Lodge and/or Pool & Recreation areas. We want all of you to enjoy yourselves, but also have consideration for your fellow residents' enjoyment as well. As a reminder — if you are bringing guests to the pool you must register them. During the week, register them at the Front Desk. On Saturdays and Sundays, registration takes place at the pool. Please take time to reacquaint yourself with our Guest Rules. Also, guests with small children wearing diapers are not allowed in the pool; and NO CHILDREN are allowed in the spa. That does not mean you can remove the diaper and "dip their toes" in. If there is an "incident," the County Health Department requires the association to close the pool (for a minimum of 24 hours), drain it and refill it. The process can take two to three days and costs the HOA close to $1,000 for clean-up, sanitizing, and refilling the pool with 156,000 gallons of water. Please carefully consider this, and use common sense when bringing children in diapers to the pool. Lastly, have a good June! Those who are taking off for the summer, enjoy your vacations — you've earned them!
