"Fitness walking" is what we do. The class consists of six different Leslie Sansone "Walk Fit" DVDs. The easy-to-follow routines are set to music with varied tempo. No memorization of routines is required. Three of the DVDs incorporate resistance bands. Tailor the class to your own needs. The full one hour class is a four mile walk. Leave early or arrive later to shorten your walk. If you can't make it three days a week, that's okay too. Men and women welcome. We are free! Join us Mon., Wed. and Fri. from 7:45 to 8:45 am at the Lodge Ballroom. Or join us in the evening on Thursdays at 6 pm in the Ballroom. For more information contact Karen Tuvim at (951) 599-4236 or Kay Masonbrink at (951) 223-3047. "Walk-Fit" Exercise Club Why strength training? Research has shown that strengthening exercises are both safe and effective for women and men of all ages, including those who are not in perfect health. In fact, people with health concerns — including heart disease or arthritis — often benefit the most from an exercise program that includes lifting weights a few times each week. Strength training, particularly in conjunction with regular aerobic exercise (we recommend The Exercise Club), can also have a profound impact on a person's mental and emotional health. Benefits of Strength Training: There are numerous benefits to strength training regularly, particularly as you grow older. It can be very powerful in reducing the signs and symptoms of numerous diseases and chronic conditions, among them: • arthritis • obesity • diabetes • back pain • osteoporosis • depression The SASY routine is comprised of twelve chair exercises to strengthen arms, legs and torso. All are very simple. SASY is a lot of fun and very social! We think this is why it works! Come join us — we look forward to seeing you. Join us every Tuesday and Thursday in the Lodge Ballroom at 7:30 am.
