This column is designed to highlight those special places that others have found and then share them with all in the community. Here are a few: 5 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | July 2014 | | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | July 2014 | 6 Dear Four Seasons Residents, In looking for material to cover for this month, I checked some of the past year's articles. Topics mentioned included watching out for animals at the pool and to not feed them, driving the speed limit, being a good neighbor to the golf course, posting Garage Sale signs on your cars (not allowed per the new R&R's) and lastly "conserving" water (from July 2010). Earlier this year, Governor Brown announced a "Drought Emergency." He asked that all Californians cut back 20 percent on their usage. The Board, the Landscape Committee and I have been pounding the message to conserve landscaping water usage since our reclaimed water system was installed five years ago. What this means is that we have to achieve a balance of conserving water yet still maintain the quality our beautifully landscaped community. I'm sure most of you would agree that this is possible. What I'm saying is that since everyone has spent thousands of dollars to install their beautiful yards, let's not turn the faucets off. Now is the time to really use the technology and conservation ideas that E.M.W.D. and the MWD (Metropolitan Water District) offer to minimize landscaping water usage. Please do not let your yards go into decline. Doing so will adversely affect your property value, deteriorate the look of the community and cause you to lose the hard earned money you invested in your yard in the first place. This next subject deals with the Handicap Parking area in front of the Lodge. Within the last few weeks, it has been reported that residents with Golf Carts and who have a placard are parking their golf cart in between two vehicles in the cross-hatched area. Yes, really. It happened last week on Bingo night. Do I need to say it's a violation? The ticket for handicapped parking violations is now over $300. The Hemet Volunteer patrol checks our parking area all the time, so whoever the people are that are doing this, please quit parking there. Okay, I'm off my soapbox, so everyone please have a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July with friends and family!
