We look forward to another year of fine dining and lively dancing. If you have not yet renewed your membership, be sure to get it in right away so you do not miss any of the dances. A special thank you to the members who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make each month's event unique and special. August starts our new year with a dance on Sat., Aug. 23. We will start the evening with a free half-hour dance lesson at 5 pm given by Ralph and Marilyn Yates. The music will begin at 6 pm and go until 9:30 pm. "Dressy-casual" attire will keep us cool. The menu will offer a wonderful variety. The meal will start with a dinner salad followed by a choice of one of the three entrees. First, you have the option of a Parmesan-Crusted Chicken Breast with garlic potatoes and vegetables for $20. The second choice is Steak Oscar with Bearnaise sauce and baby shrimp. This meal will also contain the garlic potatoes and vegetables for $27 . For members seeking the vegetarian option, Broccoli Fettuccine Alfredo will be offered for $17. Chocolate cake will be the dessert. Sign-ups will be held in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room on Thurs., Aug. 14. Tables will be drawn at 2:30 pm so come early enough to get paperwork completed ahead of time. Please contact either Carol (845-5962) or Betty (845-6528) before 3 pm, if you are unable to attend the dinner and dance for which you signed up. One of them will help you get your meal to take home. Here's to another fun year of dancing! Dinner Dance Club Chorale Chorale's Barbershop Concert We have some wonderful news for the community! Your Chorale, for the third year in succession, will be sponsoring a concert of a truly American musical art form, Barbershop music, which will be held right here on our stage in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom! And, in response to all of the very favorable comments about the guest performers energizing the stage in the last two concerts, we will again be featuring the New Gang on the Corner Chorus from the Riverside Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. You may think that over the years you have heard every conceivable barbershop song imaginable, but think again. With the leadership of their new director, Carl Buntin, they have branched out to include songs from the Beach Boys, songs about Route 66, and many, many more up-tempo songs as well as heartfelt touching ballads. We have again invited The Inland Empire Sweet Adelines, to co-star in this show, featuring some of their best quartets and highlighting one of the best female quartets in the region, "Parfait." The inside track that the ladies had in acquiring this quartet is that their new director (quite a celebrity in her own right), Tomi McEvoy, sings Bass in this quartet… Oh, and we sent them a special invitation! So mark the date of Sun., Aug. 17, on your calendars. Make plans to attend this 3 pm matinée performance and get your tickets! We have even made it easy for you to do that no matter what your schedule may be. We will start ticket sales in the Main Clubhouse lobby on Mon., Aug. 4, from 3:30 to 6:30 pm through the following Friday. O n Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday of the following week, Aug. 8 - 15 (omitting Wednesday) we will be open from 9:30 am through 2:30 pm. Tickets are only $8 pp for open theater-seating seats. What better way is there to spend a Sunday afternoon in August? For more information please call Gaylord Spence, at 769-5486! Polish your vocal chords, tune up your pitch pipes, and get ready to SING! Come join us for fun, friendship, and beautiful songs as we prepare for our annual holiday concert in December. Our first meeting is Mon., Sept. 8. Registration and music pick-up start at 8:30 am in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. Please bring a check made out to the Chorale in the amount of $15. Our first fall practice follows from 9:30 am to 12:15 pm in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. The Chorale picnic (free to members) will be held that same evening at 5:30 pm in the Ballroom. See you there!
