Congratulations to our members! The Garden Club won 3rd place in the Fourth of July Parade. Way to go! Sandy Rinehart from Cherry Valley Nursery will tell us how to get our yards ready for fall. Sandy always shares good information with us. She will also answer questions about planting and caring for our plants and yards. The meeting is Aug. 13, at 10 am, in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. Dues to be a member of the Garden Club are $15 per year. New members are welcome at any time during the year. Membership info., Suzi Messick, 769-7945. SEES CANDIES: Peanut Brittle, lollipops and gift certificates are available all year and are sold at our meetings. See's candies will be on sale at the Fall Craft Sale. The See's Candies sales are our only major fund raiser and benefit the many charities that we support. GARDEN CLUB TRIPS: Sunnylands and Chiariaco Summit, Sept. 26. Our first stop will be in Palm Springs. We will be traveling there to visit Sunnylands Visitor Center for a one hour stop before proceeding to Chiriaco Summit. The Annenburg Foundation Trust has created beautiful grounds and an estate that has held many meetings where world leaders can convene to "promote world peace and facilitate international agreement." The gardens are lovely and there is a lovely coffee shop on the grounds. Then off to Chiriaco Summit, a landmark for over 75 years and home of the General Patton Memorial Museum and the West Coast Vietnam Veterans Wall. Patton established the area around Chiriaco Summit in 1942 as a training ground for the military who would have to fight in a desert. Dec. 15 – Rancho Cucamonga and the Holiday Lights *Flyers are at meetings and at Evelyn Hawkins home at 1607 Fairway Oaks.
