We enjoy meeting and learning about our contemporaries either in person or through the process of today's media. We are often surprised, excited, amused and even awed by their accomplishments. We also have the same enthusiasm for people who have had a positive role in history for which they are remembered; those who have been the subject of past or present media be it film, literature, music, or theater. But there are others who do not receive our personal or media recognition. They are the everyday heroes we may meet personally but not know it at the time. We met one once. A Boston bus driver who gave up his break to drive his bus off route to take one WWII disabled veteran and his family directly to the sailing ship Constitution rather than have him transfer and have to walk several blocks! PEOPLE! On Wed., Aug. 13, at 7 pm in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom we proudly present Peter Small, Historical Impressionist, in his performance as Golda Meir. Peter has previously given us his outstanding costumed performances as Harry Truman and Thomas Edison. He originated his presentations when teaching Social Studies and has since performed on KTTV, the History Channel, several presidential libraries, and as Thomas Edison at the Edison Museum in Michigan and, for many years, the Edison Workshop at Knott's Berry Farms. Everyone is invited to attend. No reservations are necessary and tickets may be purchased at the door. The charge to guests is $5 and members $3 upon entrance. Refreshments will be served and a 50/50 will be held. We hope those of you who have not had the opportunity to enjoy Peter's professional performances as well as those who have experienced his past performances will be able to attend.
