soCIal Clubs & Groups | sun lakes lIfestyles | auGust 2014 |25 Bible Study Our Bible study group is non-denominational. All are welcome. We meet together every week for fellowship and study. On the first Wednesday of each month we meet for dinner before our regular meeting. Reservations for dinner are taken in the meeting the last Wednesday of each month. Bring your Bible, any version, and listen to or participate in our discussion of the evening topic. We're all learning together. We'd be delighted if you'd join us. We meet every Wednesday at 7 pm in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. Have you performed in: Glee Club? Chorus? Church? The shower? If you can carry a tune, come sing with us… we want YOU. Sing with us in chorus, small groups, or quartets in Barbershop Harmony. Previous singing experience is desirable but not necessary. Come and listen. Barbershop Chorus The July 4th Extravaganza was one of the most festive events at Sun Lakes. Hot dogs and hamburgers in the afternoon on the Sun Lakes patio and tri-tip, chicken, plus all the fixings in the evening with the Paisano Club, where everyone was made to feel welcomed! We will not have a meeting in August, but we will resume with a wonderful Bocce event on Sept. 6, at the North Clubhouse, at 5 pm, $13 pp, BYOD. Once again we will have Dutch and Jim Curry helping us organize the players… everyone at all skill levels are welcome to play. This is a chance for those who are new to Bocce to try out this companionable sport and give those who have played the game a time to enjoy the camaraderie. We do have to know ahead of time if you are going to play so that the Curry's can make up teams. Prizes will be awarded to the top winners. We will have pizza, salad, and of course a special dessert. The delightful Ellie and Gerry Fawcett will provide a fabulous Card Bingo game for those who aren't playing Bocce or for those who are waiting their turn. Along with wonderful German/Austrian dishes, we are planning some exuberant entertainment. November is "Off To The Races," Sun Lakes style. Wear your western gear, along with those dancing shoes. There will be plenty of food, as usual, and our very own horse racing. Our Holiday Festival/Christmas Party… perhaps the first of the season will be on Sat., Dec. 6.
