health & sports Clubs | sun lakes lIfestyles | auGust 2014 | 37 We're well into the Summer Tournament with 64 teams braving the summer heat, and it has been hot! Summer playoffs begin the week of Aug. 25. Come out and cheer your friends and neighbors on! The Fall Tournament begins the week of Sept. 8. Again, we're going with a split time schedule. Play will be at 5, 6, 7 and 8 pm for the first five weeks, changing to 3, 4, 5 and 6 pm as the weather cools off. Entries must be in by Aug. 29. As usual, they go to 1288 Pleasant Valley. Jeanette has a box at her front door. If your team members have already paid their club dues, the only charge is the usual team fee of $3 pp or $12 per team. For those of you who don't know, team fees are used to purchase restaurant gift cards that we award to the semi-finalists and finalists for that Tournament. If you haven't been on a winning team, you probably don't know that the losing semi-final team members each receive a gift card in the amount of $8; losing finalists each receive a $16 card and the winners each receive $24 gift cards. These are presented to all three leagues, AA, A, and B! If you needed any more incentive to play your best, this might be it! Believe it or not, Dutch doesn't really run the bocce club! She's just the super-happy-social director! All the paperwork, statistics and scheduling is done by our Tournament Chair, Jeanette Torrey. When you next see her, give her an atta-girl for a difficult job well done! Info., Dutch, 845-0392.
